Eyelids unveiled cerulean blue orbs as Minato woke up and after a small delay, could feel the pain of his injuries begin to seep it’s way in. With a pained expression forming on his fair features, the blonde slowly sat up, eliciting a soft yawn as he glanced around the empty room. The soft hum of the air vent could be heard, signaling that the air conditioning system was on. That would explain the goosebumps along his skin.
Minato then saw a bouquet of flowers beside his bed. With a little card attached to it. Minato reaches over with the arm that wasn’t covered completely in a cast, and read it. “You’re working working too hard! Take it easy and rest, Baka!” Minato laughed softly, though his ribs were sore. But he couldn’t help it. “That’s Kushina alright...” A knock was heard as Minato put the card back in place. ‘So, they noticed I was awake.’ Minato thought to himself, eyeing the camera attached the the ceiling in the corner of the room. “Come in.”
Expecting to see a nurse, but instead, in comes Jiraiya-Sensei. “So, you’re finally awake, eh Minato?” A smile curled his lips at the sight of his mentor. “How long was I out?” Jiraiya walked over to the side of the bed, crossing his arms over his chest. “This time? Two days.” Minato released a deep sigh, “I am close... I can feel it. Just a little more time and I—“
“I don’t doubt it, but you shouldn’t push yourself too hard. You’ll worry your friend.” He said, gesturing towards the flowers and card. Minato couldn’t help but blush a little. “Y-Yeah, I’ll have to apologize to her later... But I am nearly there, just need to sustain the chakra..” Jiraiya placed a hand on top of his head, gazing down at his student. “Well, I wouldn’t think you’d be the type to give up. Though, a little advice... You might want to work with a little less chakra or risk blowing your arm off.”
Swallowing a gulp, Minato gave a silent nod. Trying to contain chakra into a spherical shape mimicking the Tailed Beast Ball isn’t that easy... And neither is developing a brand new jutsu from scratch.
“Once you’ve recovered, I’ll help you develop it more.” Minato smiles brightly, “Thank you Sensei. Though I thought you said I needed to figure it out on my own...” Jiraiya gave a hearty laugh, as he knew full well he only said that so he could continue his ‘research’ undisturbed. “Yeah well, I’ve changed my mind. Better be grateful, Minato.” A small smile adorned the blonde’s lips, “I’ll look forward to it.” Jiraiya then began to walk out of the room. Before stopping right before he twist the doorknob. “What did you say your jutsu‘ Snake was?”
“Rasengan...” Jiraiya gave another hearty laugh. “Rasengan eh? Not bad. If it turns out as well as you hope, I might just add it to my arsenal.” And with that, Jiraiya Sensei left the room. Minato felt his determination skyrocket upon hearing his Sensei will be lending his help. “I’d hope so, Sensei..” He uttered softly to himself after he had gone.
‘A jutsu capable of being self sustaining. Once formed, no chakra is needed to maintain it. A rigorously spiraling ball of chakra capable of drilling into just about anything... Quite the idea huh..? I couldn’t have thought of it without you, Kushina...’
