It was an odd situation but Kankuro supposed he’d been subject to stranger. He considered her proposal and then shrugged shaking his head. “It’s alright. I’ll be fine on the couch myself.” he says to the girl. Being asked for her to stay in his apartment had been an odd request but he hadn’t put up much of a fight with her in the room. That and he couldn’t deny his baby brother almost anything these days.
Karin would have preferred if she hadn’t been.. compelled to stay at someone’s residence while she was in Suna-- because of that, she thought that this was how the Kazekage handled things. Pushing her glasses up the bridge of her noise, Karin eyed the door to what she assumed was the bedroom. “..If you say so,” she replied. “Thanks. And uh.. sorry again for the intrusion.”

Wait, that’s not Kushina-! Did he just smack a random girl’s butt?! Oh god, he’s in trouble. “Oh! Sorry, I mistook you for someone else. I apologize.” Minato quickly bows his head as much as he can to show respect, hoping she would forgive him.
His chakra said it all. He wasn’t lying– in fact he was royally panicking. Still, Karin couldn’t just shake off her indignation.
“Better not do that again,” she grunted, putting on her best threatening act. What a weird guy..
“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on it.” Minato said, as he then tried to quickly change the awkward situation.
“So…Where are you from? I’ve never seen you around Konoha before. Visiting?“ He would have recognized someone with crimson hair like that. Looks so similar to Kushina’s. If only he had checked to make sure it was Kushina before… doing something like that.”
“Sort of,” Karin muttered. Was it her clothing? The way she took in the sights? Her hair? Well– she had experience with being quite the outsider.
And what about this man? For a klutz she’d never met before, he actually looked kinda familiar. Karin frowned intently as she struggled to pinpoint why, and as if on cue, she noticed the vast monument in the distance. Like the first thing anyone would see if they walked in through the front gates.
“You’re one of the stone faces–”

Minato felt his cheeks suddenly burn up at the sudden comment from the crimson-haired woman. “I.. I was going to-” He uttered, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile on his face. Surely she would worry about her relative enough to tell her boyfriend to wear a condom so that they don’t have babies they aren’t prepared for. But even then, he was taken by surprise! Minato cleared his throat and glanced to the side, “Well.. we were planning on eating out at a restaurant that recently opened up. Ichiraku’s Ramen. And then see where things go from there…”
“Sure,” Karin adjusted her glasses, unamused. “I hear that all the time, you know.”
“O-Oh, really? Not good then?” He asked, rubbing the back of his neck with a slightly worried look on his face. “What.. do you recommend then?”
Was he asking her for dating advice now?
“W-well, the ramen place isn’t a bad idea, actually–!”
