Hey, I was accepted into the Disney College Program for Main Entrance Operations and I was just wondering what that was like?
Hey! Congratulations on your acceptance! I can't speak for all areas of Main Entrance Operations, but I'm going to do my best.
I worked on Main Street at Magic Kingdom. When I started I was trained for Parade Audience Control and Park Greeter. Now PAC is a separate department, so you won't be placed there. Park Greeter training is two days where you learn about the different types of ticket media, what is and is not allowed inside the park, and how to work the touch points (new turnstiles). The third day is an assessment.
My roommate worked at the front entrance and International Gateway of Epcot. She also worked at the Auto Plaza, where she collected money for parking. Sometimes she was pulled to set up cones and direct guests in the parking lot. And some people get trained driving or narrating the trams. It all depends on where they place you.
As a Park Greeter I was one of the first and last Cast Members to interact with guests. It was always fun to do things like give guests suggestions and tips while stocking maps, and making guests smile by remembering them when they come back.
If you need any more details or have any other questions, feel free to message me again! My roommate and I really loved our role, and I hope you do too!
