Realistically how do we think this show is going to end?? Bc how are they going to keep going on being haunted by the wilderness I feel like they will never recover from it. But I can't see them all dead by the end so idk.
i keep thinking about an alternative yellowjackets timeline where natalie didn't die, and imagining a nat & misty vs. shauna & tai endgame in that scenario. the ultimate dream match. mentally unwell ride or die bitches vs. mentally unwell ride or die bitches. i was robbed.
Bestie, tell me your thoughts about the yellowjackets finale! Please.
heey lovely, sorry it took me so long to reply this, I'm back at playing far cry saga and I haven't been around Tumblr this much haha
Spoilers ahead for Yellowjackets season finale!
I actually enjoyed it a lot more before I checked twitter and read all the problematics going around the finale haha I was like "wait so it was not that good? Am I an easy to please audience?" But anyways, despise all the issues, I thought it was an okay season ending, like most Yellowjackets stuff are, yk? Everything about this show is "okay" since the first season. They don't have great writing and there's a LOT of stuff that most fans would just cut off the show.
I have to say I was truly disappointed with Shauna being the antler queen and I love Shauna haha She low-key has the best downfall of the show but as usual, fan theories do better and that idea of Jackie's ghost being the antler queen was just too great to be wasted. Also, Lottie was a better fit for the role than Shauna. It was disappointing to see they didn't follow the best theories for this.
Although Van's death scene was a bit silly to me, I actually like her death's arc. Radiohead, the plane, Taissa eating her heart, great scenes. But I low-key hated that Lottie didn't get the same, it's getting really hard for the authors to escape the racism allegations huh
I personally don't have anything against Melissa or any of the actors, it was a bless to have Sophie kissing girls but Melissa's character becoming a main was so unnecessary? I was hoping for Akilah or Mari to be one of the survivors. Also, I'm not gonna talk about Mari, her death is still haunting me and it's a triggering subject.
overall, the finale was a solid 8 out of 10 (best scenes the hunt and Natalie saving them). Decent but nothing about it was that incredible, and I really don't like how they are writing Shauna/Lottie to be the villains, both writers and the public are forgetting all the atrocities the whole group has done together. Jackie's death is still the best and saddest finale, nothing can compare.
Let's hope the writing improves next season. I doubt that very much but it's not like I can escape the ships obsessions to drop this show š£ļøš
it's crazy that coach ben only got a guilty verdict from the yellowjackets because shauna got laid and lottie decided that she was the embodiment of the wilderness (+ van is just a supportive girlfriend <3)
Iāve been way too obsessed w Yellowjackets recently. Season two will break you though so⦠beware.
Have fun watching it though itās such an addicting show. (I also suggest watching LOST if you havenāt and have a lot of time bc itās a while to get thru but so worth it)
I finished watching it last week and honestly, I'm in denial. I can't believe they killed the best of them, but after Jackie, nothing should surprise me.
And I have to say I was surprised by the Nat/Lottie edits but I ended up shipping them a lot in the second season, the chemistry between the older actresses is impressive, and I fell even more in love with Milf!Lottie, to no one's surprise.
To be honest, the biggest lie in this series is the heterosexuality of those girls. Shauna marrying her best friend's boyfriend, keeping her uniform in her closet and hallucinating about her for years? That's homo, sis. And well, all of Nat and Lottie's interactions, ESPECIALLY THE BATHTUB SCENE (I was speechless with Nat swearing that hoarse voice) or Lottie and Laura Lee.
That show is lacking a scene where Van or Taissa just comment on how much their friends are evidently in love with each other and don't realize it, sapphic solidarity or whatever.
I don't like the adult sotyline at all, sue me, producers. I don't care if Shauna wants to cheat on her husband, or Nat wants to mourn the worst love interest she could have; Misty is very charismatic but I don't care for another heterosexual romance, and by god, how on earth Taissa marry someone else? Why do you hate happy/healthy lesbians, Hollywood? Van survived a wolf attack and got cancer?? like why?
Just bring back my cult!leader milf next season.
I was thinking about a reader insert fic with Lottie as the main love interest by the way, maybe with a lot of extra pairing for the angst...
