he waits in his cabin, feet propped on writing desk, pipe held gently in their gloved hand. they dont turn, they dont need to, ed had called the other in and any of his crew knew better than to interrupt, “ c’mere pup. ” edward hums almost idly. ” i heard you’ve been causing a bit of trouble with the crew… ” 😌

     it was ivan that relayed the message   /   a quick brush of his knuckles against the first mate’s arm to grab his attention ,   (   boss wants to see you   )   muttered hastily into his good ear.   gaze flickers back out over the sea ---   what does edward say ?   not bloody optimal.   a sigh is released ,   head tipping downward as he begins to make his way towards his captain’s quarters.   along the way catching the eye of one of blackbeard’s crew ,   teeth bared & order barked out at the man.   door is open & shut behind himself ,   straightening his back in edward’s presence ,   silently awaiting his master’s command. 

     the name drips like honey from edward’s mouth ,   sweet & alluring ---   a breath is released he hadn’t realized he was holding ,   now assured he remains in his captain’s favor.   izzy comes as he’s called ,   legs carrying him over to the other’s side ,   kneeling down before them without so much as a second thought.   the floor is the place of a dog ,   after all   /   a place he finds himself comforted ,   at the feet of his master ,   ready to enact their every command   (   i can be good ,   let me show you .   )

     ❝      only as much trouble as they cause me ,   sir .     ❞     he replies ,   a bit vaguely.   there’s a guilty look about him ,   a shiver traveling up his spine in suspense   /   will he be punished ?   the thought shouldn’t excite him as much as it does ,   mouth dry but pupils blown in anticipation of the captain’s next move.
