the sight of the goliath brought a delighted grin to lionel’s face, and he raised a hand in an enthusiastic wave as grog approached, seemingly unconcerned by the squint and stink eye he was receiving, grog was a cool guy - he liked grog a lot. the question prompted him to tilt his head to the side, smile still in place. even the suggestion that he was liked and loved by his former boss caused him to swell up with some pride. gosh! he sure hoped so.

“ i mean, i dunno. i s’pose so! i mean, he did like, lie to me for a year, but i guess that’s okay; people lie to me all the time, anyway. it’s cool if he does though, right? he’s like the first person who sort of cared about me and i always looked up to him -- though, i guess i’m lookin’ down on him more now though. ” picking up his glass of chocolate milk, he gave it a little sip, enjoying the flavor. “ he’s cool. i mean, all you guys are super cool.. it’s why i’m glad we’re friends. ”

He normally would try to power through a school day trying to seem fine enough, even if he wasn’t: but today, Shuichi was so much quieter and was pretty much laying his head down and not talking to anyone for most of the day.

“Ah...” When Kaede held him close, he didn’t push her away. Instead he sighs and just leans his head against her. Usually he’d be too shy to do so: but right now, a comforting gesture was truly what he needed right now.

“Sorry.... I know I must have made you worried all day. I’ll... I’ll be fine. This week has just been... really rough on me, is all. So you can go home, don’t let me keep you... but thank you for your concern, either way.”
