#yes man mod

I realize that I never have gotten to really watch a securitron just be in the space of New Vegas until the Yes Man mod (by @pyreo and @lady-swillmart-archive) so here are a few observations (also just about having Yes Man as a companion in general):

-my boy gets/is dirty! Makes sense being outside in the Mojave and all. I like to imagine the courier stopping by the lake and washing him like a car lol

- I’m pretty sure this is just Yes man specific, but he’s always turning his body and looking at things , excited by his environment and all the new places he gets to see!!! Not sure if that’s something that the modders figured out or just built into the game but it sure makes me smile 🩷 he’s just happy to be there

- he kept getting in the way of doorways in cramped places like vaults, Helios One, and to avoid that I’ll have him wait outside. Sometimes the command doesn’t take and it’s like he insists to come along and be helpful (!!) or when eventually the command takes and I come back outside and it’s nighttime and the only light is his little smile looking at me like 🥹 like I wouldn’t leave you bby it’s okay

-the putting his arms up into his shoulders when he launches missles?? Idk if there is a lore reason for this but I turned around and saw it once I full on squealed lol didn’t know that was a securitron feature.

- I loved sneaking around the ultra luxe trying to save Ted Gunderson while having this giant metal robot behind me. Screamed subtly and finesse ✨

-speaking of which, as an independent Vegas truther, I love bringing Yes Man around to do missions with the tribes! As de facto co ruler he’s getting to know everyone with me lol even the Khans his favorite as we know

-and getting to be with the other human companions. Headcanon is he’s wary of Veronica because of brotherhood but thinks she’s sweet as he gets to know her, thinks Cass is a little rude but makes the courier laugh so that can’t be bad, scared of Boone but likes that he keeps the courier safe (and maybe a little jealous), thinks Arcade is hiding something thus untrustworthy but when the enclave plot was revealed is like ‘yeah I wouldn’t want anyone to know that either!’ Is very encouraging of getting the remnants involved, Raul’s repair skills are appreciated and noted, doesn’t understand his humor. Does not like ED-E or Rex there is only room for one best friend tyvm 🗣️

heyy hi hey. genuinely in pits of despair rn and was wondering how you managed to get the yesman companion mod.... working? and also if you were running it alongside any other mods/modpacks? MUCH APPRECIATED

I was extremely frustrated too, and I’m trying to find the post online that explained exactly how to link it manually within mod manager but can no longer. :( I did this back in December so bear with me. But yes, you can have it with other mods.

First:

-make sure you have Viva New Vegas or whatever base you’re using installed correctly. Follow the guide to the T

-manually bring it into mod organizer. Someone on here said they had to unzip the file first, the I don’t think I did. Try both just in case. An error will appear beside where the mod is in the mod organizer

-and here’s where my instructions get dicey but if someone with better know how can comment and maybe clarify what I mean: I had to manually link it so that ‘error’ went from red to green. “Finding the correct pathway” is the a phrase I remember reading

And then it SHOULD work. Again, if someone can clarify any of the info here I would appreciate it. I might make a post with a guide on how to do it once I’m reminded on exactly how it’s done…you’re not the first nor the last who’s had this problem!
