potential 2026 tragedies
hello angels!!
as the somewhat pessimistic title suggests, i've put together (yes another...) list based on a convo me n one of my dearest friends had about how 2026's vibes are just...a little off so far. i'm not sure if it's the rise of ai generated content infiltrating social media, the unsettling n frankly disgusting determination scientists have for creating artificial life forms, the political unrest of our society, or a little bit of everything-but there is definitely some tragedy in the making.
with all that being said, i hope from the bottom of my heart that we're wrong, but if not we said it first xx
global disasters
WWIII ~ starting off with a bang (literally...), my sweet bestie is convinced that we're on the brink of the next world war, n i can hardly say she's crazy for thinking that way. i'd like to throw in the note that it's possible that we could already be in WWIII. n if you're thinking whaaat, girl you're crazy, don't you think we'd...idk...KNOW if we were in the middle of a world war. bby do i have something to tell you. historically, world wars commence with some sort of inciting incident (i.e. the Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand) which so far has followed the pattern of appearing as something "small"/localized, n there's no telling how big the conflict will get until it's over. we could already be in the preparations of an inciting incident without even knowing it, which would hardly be a shocker considering all the political unrest this world is seeing.
build a bitch ~ "women are no longer needed", because we can now incubate babies in robots!! since our sole purpose on this planet (childbearing n childrearing) has been taken, we should just donate our eggs n leave the living n breathing to the men!! i have a sneaking suspicion that a major development in artificial life forms (clankers) will do serious harm to how women are perceived/treated by society. i'm sure it'll be something sexual bc nothing sells better.
domestic (US) disaster
ground beef is the new steak ~ my vegan/vegetarian angels can go ahead n scroll for this one xx i'm predicting the effects of this one being seen more in 2027, but it's definitely in the works. short n sweet-taxation on smaller american farms causing farmers to sell their land n cattle + greed encouraging the sales of cattle to foreign countries (primarily south american), prices of ground beef will rise DRAMATICALLY. think rising gas prices, ground beef is the new super unleaded. n i better not see mcdonalds even TRYING to raise their prices bc God only knows what's in their burgers but we all know ground beef isn't one of those things.
simon says ~ i don't have any reasoning behind this one other than the obvi, n absolutely no clue what simon would be saying, but i feel like there's gonna be some crazy band wagon that everyone will jump on. n i don't mean a trend-i mean something CRAZY, probly ethically questionable, n creepy bc why are we all doing one thing??

water al dente ~ a freak accident causes extreme pollution. my bet's water pollution but air is not entirely out of the question
