I am running my first and let's be honest probably only half marathon today wish me luck

I keep seeing ads for a fcuking ai "friend" with taglines like "I'll never leave dishes in your sink" and "someone who listens, responds, and supports you" and they're everywhere and just. Do they even know what a friend is? A friend is not a machine with no needs who spends every waking hour with you and only you and affirms your every thought, yes your friend is being unreasonable, yes that was so inconsiderate of your boyfriend, yes you're so right you're so right you're so right you should divorce her they don't deserve you.

A friend is a person whom you love, who takes up space in your life, who you want to take up space in your life, who lets you take up space in their life, who has a rich inner life outside of just you, who calls you out when you're being a dick, who is a fcuking whole person. If there are no dishes in the sink what is the point.

This bullshit is selling loneliness and solitude to already-lonely people who won't know why they're still lonely and will just fall more and more into this while giving away their every secret and heartache for nothing but to be sold things marginally more precisely and I hate it so viscerally. How dare you?

I just signed up for a half marathon and i am already half regretting it but it is non refundable and yes that was on purpose

Listen I am enjoying Dracula more than I expected but a question that is nagging at me is why tf didn't Dracula send the 50 boxes in different shipments? He's praised as a tactical mind when he was alive, thinking over centuries as a vampire, patient & careful. If he'd sent 5 boxes here, 5 boxes there, some as much as 20, 30, 100 years earlier, it would have been straight up impossible for the crew of light to find them all

So. A job application I never expected to get this far with has asked for references, and while I haven't lied I have perhaps inflated some of my accomplishments. It's all close to true, but i implied more ownership than i actually had for certain projects, so we'll see how those references go.
