My feelings on the Harvest has a crush episode.
Ok so like, yesterday's "lunar hates moon" ep had like, the setup for cosmos lunar hate sex. I swear.
He just barged in to the house, then Cosmos room and bed. And pissed Cosmos off enough to get him threatening physical violence.
And like, next EP he does literally say the words "I thought you were going to do it with Harvest" or something similar (today's episode, " lunar forgets" or whatever) so like. Dude's def jelly of harvest and looking for hate sex, or at least some type of attention.
I don't usually 'watch' the episodes, as in I listen to them but my eyes are not on the screen, so when I glanced over at my screen briefly and saw Lunar just SITTING IN COSMOS'S BED I WAS LIKE WHRHSJSJSJHH bro why you just climb up in there like a good little boy awaiting his bedtime story. We need to talk about how Lunar is just. Too comfortable? Doesn't care about social rules? Does what he wants when he wants? Idk how to put it. He just. He does what he feels like, regardless of how bizarre it is. Tell Harvest to say some nasty flirty words to Earth. Do a backflip off a balcony. Climb into the bed of a guy you don't know that well and don't like.
Lunar is random XD but it doesn't come across as something he's faking. It feels genuine which is why he's an enjoyable character instead of a cringe fest. I think part of it is because we see him alone, talking to himself, still being a little weirdo (tbh he kinda reminds me of myself when alone.) which means he's not just doing this so the other animatronics see it and laugh. Also we see it affect the other's perception of him negatively, like when he's cruel to y/n or mean to Earth's cat, so he's not doing this to be liked. He's just. A strange little guy.
In today's episode he definitely was fast to ask why Earth and Chico were trying to take him out somewhere instead of Harvest. I think he's feeling a little pouty.
Lunar is definitely a needy dude too, he needs a lot of attention. The backflips, the barging in, the comments, the jokes. He is always looking for eyes on him. And I do think he may be looking for some kind of romantic/sexual attention more now that Earth has two boyfriends and neither are him (perhaps he feels he's being left behind/replaced). And I really don't think he would know how to go about getting that kind of attention, so jumping into Cosmos's bed and repeatedly provoking him actually does sound like a path he'd try. I don't think he'd be happy with the results, but at least somebody was focusing on him for a little bit. Maybe that'll make him feel less lonely. (I also don't think Cosmos would feel real proud of himself afterwards. He'd probably lay in bed with his hands over his face and hate himself for another impulsive, self destructive decision. He'd put off sleeping because he'd feel too guilty to see his girlfriend.)
Awawawa made myself feel sad. Earth needs to date Lunar too. He needs her attention back on him and many cuddles. I will always be Earth/Lunar stan #1
Negative tsams rant below feel free to ignore.
Wow!! I'm so glad that we dumped the Shamrocks and the custom pizzeria out back in the dumpster just so we can get a brand new pizzeria that definitely won't be barely showcased, and then also dumped and forgotten about in two months! /sarcasm
Seriously. I don't understand the point?? They HAD a daycare. Sun was working in a daycare and they said no! Not that one! Let's drop that and put him in...? A daycare. A half-baked, empty daycare.
"Well maybe it's because they want less characters. Less VAs to rely on and more focus on Sun and Moon and their interactions." (Which I'll never complain about focusing on them and their relationship) But then they mention getting new animatronics and hiring people and having humans about. So?? It can't be that. We're getting a whole new cast to get attached to just so they can be dumped when they bring in no views.
And what is going on with the working situation. They can't seem to figure out if Moon is gonna work in there or not, and they mention getting managers. They own this building. Are the managers for just the other animatronics? Do they want managers for themselves? If Moon isn't gonna work in the daycare, what is he gonna do? If he isn't gonna work in there then there goes the focus on them and their relationship and I am once again asking why did we drop the already custom made, perfectly good daycare they already had?
A part of me can't help but wonder if this isn't some kind of bid at that full reboot they regret not doing. Or perhaps just an attempt to grab views by harkening back to the old days in the old daycare. And it's sad because a big part of me actually is glad to see them in their old daycare. To think they'll have the more basic job of daycare attendants again and focus more on Sun and Moon again. I think they really do need basic, stable jobs to ground them and give them some amount of relatability and something to do and be able to talk about as a normal, everyday thing for them. But with Moon saying he isn't working there, I'm worried that's not what we're getting.
Idk. I just am gonna miss the Shamrocks, and I want so badly to be excited for this new chapter in their life, but based off of past experiences, I don't expect it to last. I know everything they do is based off views, but it still feels like a slap in the face to the audience to just drop plot important places and characters at random.
So during the TLAES episode yesterday where Sun was getting to know the TLAES crew, we all saw Eleanor hitting on him, and even he acknowledged it afterwards.
I like it.
Idk what it is, that when Shamrock Chica and Eleanor both hit on Sun, I was into it. I think those are fun ships, those are fun girlfriends for Sun, but not Rosie. I think it's because both Chica and Eleanor didn't hesitate. They saw a cute Sun, they got flirty. I think Sun would do well with a very forward woman. A gal who makes him feel wanted and is... Uncomplicated? Somebody fun who would help him relax and unwind. A lady who plans the dates, takes him for drinks, probably still makes him pay but he's literally their boss he owns where they work so fair tbh, puts a hand on his thigh and gives him a wink and can get him to laugh. A chick who can turn his brain off, at least for a few hours.
That's the kind of girlfriend for Sun. A good time gal.
Okay, so I already liked Carmine, but this episode, man. This episode.
To see Carmine as a scared little rat, so panicked and with his only thought being escape? To see him as something so... Unlike his typical put together self? Peak.
This is what Carmine needs. This makes him intriguing.
It's so interesting, we've seen Carmine in high stress, high stakes scenarios before, and he always keeps his cool. Fight a horde? Just fine. Got bit and about to turn into a zombie and die? That's okay.
See your Sun equivalent? Go back home?
Nightmare.
I loved what he turned into. That he ran without a second look, left Moon behind with Rigel. That he couldn't be quiet, even though the noise put them in further danger. That he kept snapping at Moon. Fix it! Fix it now! Just do it! What's taking you so long?! Not helpful in the slightest.
Carmine faced death. And he was calm. But Rigel? His home? Worse than death. Worse than infection. What happened? Why does he react like this?
Carmine is proof some people do live by the saying, "You don't need to be faster than the lion, you just need to be faster than your slowest friend." And I love that for him. The man always putting others above himself finally showing some selfishness. Yes.
And then when they do get out of there? Carmine's immediate paranoia. There's a rat, must be. Carmine will flush it out himself. No, he doesn't need help, and don't you dare touch him. There he is. There's the Moon in him. And it is so good.
Absolutely well done episode, I look forward to learning more about Rigel.
So speak of the devil and he will upload an episode. The Carmine and Solar date finally went through and that. Man. FUMBLED.
Carmine, starting off piss poorly when he kept trying to get Solar to open up to him and pretend he's a therapist and then when Solar does going, "oh, actually nah bruv, I ain't qualified."
But actually, that's because his plan was to get a date with Solar. And Solar came in for said date and once. Again. Carmine. FUMBLES. (Also Carmine brought up not being able to eat twice and both times they acted like it was the first time he said it did Bavis record the two halves of this episode twenty days apart?) Carmine acting almost like a brainless broken record with the snooty story owner and then suddenly aggressively with the bartender, and I know he says he decided to take Solar's approach but it still felt?? Odd. It really felt like Carmine is bad at dating.
Except.
We see the true intent of Carmine.
Carmine doesn't care if Solar likes him, relies on him, enjoyed their time together. He wasn't planning on trying to actually pick up Solar.
Order a drink. Get Solar to drink it. Three drinks for lightweight Solar. Take him home like a good date should.
Has anybody mentioned how Carmine knows where Solar's room is straight away? Solar says it's upstairs, Carmine corrects him with NO thought. No having to look. He was anticipating getting in that room, already had it planned. How could he be so certain that he'd make it in there? (Maybe there was something in the drink, even)
Doesn't just bring him to his room, gets him inside. Gets him in his bed. Start with the shoes, oh Solar, you shouldn't sleep with your shoes on. Easy enough place to start. And from there it's easy to keep going, slippery slope and all that. Take off your socks too. Oh, those pants must be uncomfortable. A shirt? No. These boxers? Let's take them off too.
Solar is drunk, nearly in tears by the end of the episode, emotional and needy and lonely. Easy to manipulate. He probably won't even remember this anyways. He'll say no to start but Carmine is so polite and sweet and insistent and eventually the 'no's stop and Carmine gets his prize.
Carmine likes to play the nice guy but I see through him. I see the game he's playing. And Moon adores him, so even when Solar wakes up with a hazy memory, wondering if it was real, Moon will say how sweet and trustworthy Carmine is and Solar will doubt himself.
So like... Did somebody text Eclipse that Sun got a date with Joy? Is there somebody gossiping with Eclipse? That guy they all claim to hate? (Actually I really like the idea that Solar and Eclipse text and chat idk I think they're friends)
Or is Eclipse using his bugs that he has on Sun and Moon for their missions to just... Spy on them? Because if so 👀
And isn't it odd that he's been so hostile to Moon specifically lately and now is being protective of Sun? He says he hates both of them. He's always been an ass to both of them. Why's he suddenly acting like an overprotective dad?
Maybe it's a little bit of jealousy 👀
I always did like the headcanon that Eclipse isn't just Moon's abandoned killcode, he's also all of Moon's abandoned brother fucking desires. (Which, just like the killcode, naturally grew back in Moon's code.)
Which hey while on the topic of Eclipse once being Moon's code, what if they used him to fix Moon's memory stuff? Eclipse said in that therapy episode he still has all the memories of their life before they split. What if instead of using another Moon they tie Moon's code to, they use Eclipse? It makes more sense than an unrelated Moon tbh.
What if Eclipse and Moon end up getting merged back into the same body?! Their codes recombined?!
They would be the biggest asshole in the dimension lmao.
(And they would fuck Sun so hard. Brother wouldn't stand a chance.)
So Lumos was a Lunar/Cosmos variant. Makes sense, his name is an in between for them. He was very chill, I like that. Likely didn't fear the newcomers since they were in his domain, his runes scattered throughout the area. They were at a disadvantage if they meant trouble. More than just keeping things in spring, they likely bolster his magic and keep him safe.
Also... The hunt leads to blood. The sea is more dangerous with storms. Trickery and disguise go hand in hand. Lumos and Ichor seem the perfect pairing. Remember back in the old days after Lunar decided to betray Eclipse but before he really settled in with Sun and Moon, when he wanted Bloodmoon to be his brother(s)? (Yes, you can see the facts I choose to remember...) Perhaps.... Lumos is the twin for Ichor. Just a thought. If not, they likely are close if not some kind of kin to each other.
I fear for him tho, he gave some good info to our boys b4 suddenly running off. Did he feel Luneira's presence? Would he be in trouble for divulging such important info? I hope he stays safe.
Also... So the whole point of the mission was make sure the gods don't know how to dimension hop and their stupid asses just slap down a portal in the middle of everywhere where anyone can see. Great job, guys. 10/10
(Also Eclipse really biting Moon's head off this episode. Is he in distress? He's not been that snippy since he was last in distress. I know he doesn't like Sun and Moon but he's been more chill with them lately. More passive aggressive than this outwardly aggressive. Is something going down at the Sanctuary while our heroes are out of dimension? Tyrant finally?)
