"Curious bag. What do you have in there?" His voice was deep, smooth, and demanded all attention at once from the boy.
"Tapes. Uh, not that kind—" he clarified when the man raised an eyebrow, "—I'm a reporter. Sort of. I'm a uh, freelance reporter. I specialise in crazy stories."
"Crazy? How crazy?"
"Anything. Counter-cultures, alternative scenes, the paranormal… if it makes for a good story, I'm willing to hear anyone out."
"Would you like to hear a crazy story then?"
"I've heard a little bit of just about everything. Hit me."
