jayoung was losing it. she’s had this feeling of panic since 3rd period, when she frantically rummaged through her small pencil case and failed to find her pen. it was red, it was decorated with sparkly little stars, and it was lost. it was lunchtime, and jayoung chews on her salad in a frenzy as she thinks of her next move. where could it be?

if she lost any other pen, she wouldn’t care that much. but this was her lucky pen. her cousin had given it to her when she first started school at sunhwa, and she liked to think that it helps her get those extra marks during tests and assignments. not to mention that it reminds her of her family in korea, and how grateful she is to them for all their help over the years. without the pen… anything could go wrong.

in a rush, jayoung decides to check her study-spot in the library. it’s true that she did go there earlier, but she’s certain that she still had it later… or did she? she’s not so sure anymore. within minutes, she’s there. she peers into every nook and cranny but it’s nowhere to be seen. she’s going to snap if she doesn’t find it soon.

as jayoung is sweeping her eyes across the tabletops, she swears she saw a sparkle of light in the corner of her eye. she whips her head towards it and her heart fills with relief when she spots her beloved pen. at last.

just one problem. her lucky pen is currently resting in someone’s hand. he’s tapping it on the table as he flicks through some book. jayoung rushes towards him, her steps brisk but quiet. manners are the last thing on her mind.
