浜田山への移動を自転車通勤に切り替えて、1ヶ月。 片道10km、細い道も覚えて、35分くらいで行けるようになりました。

慣れてくると、中目黒も自転車でいいんじゃない？という気になって （中目黒の方がちょっと近いしね） 昨日は、スタジオ・ヨギーにも自転車通勤。

登り坂を元気よく進んでいたら、勢い余って恵比寿まで行きそうになりました💦 そんなわけで予定よりも少し余分に時間がかかってしまいましたが、自転車通勤、とても良いです^^ 実はしばらく前、浜田山へ向かう途中で自転車のチェーンが外れてしまいました。自分でいろいろといじっていたらなんとなくハマり、そのまま無事にその日のクラスを終えて帰ってきたのですが、なんともこのハマり具合を信用できず。

しかもこの自転車、片方のブレーキが突然効かなくなったのを、コードをいじっていたらなんだかうまく直った感じになったという、これもまた信用できないブレーキで。

一度きちんと自転車屋さんで点検してもらおうと思ったのだけれど、購入したお店が無くなってしまい、インターネットで検索しても、近所で良さそうなところが見つからず、困っていました。

そういう時に助けてくれるのは、その道に詳しい人。 ヨガのクラスに来てくれている自転車男子に、見てもらえるお店を尋ねてみたら。なんとあっさりと、すぐ近くに、あった♡ ギアもブレーキもきちんと調整してもらって、他も細々と見てもらい、快適に自転車に乗っています。 識っている人に教えてもらうこと、大切ですね。

数ヶ月ぶりに再会できたスタジオのスタッフのかたに、「ねこちゃんの動画に癒されてます」と言ってもらったのです。 Facebookだけに載せていたのですが、ようやくお会いできたみなさんに、よく「可愛い🐱」とご好評なねこ。 5月にしのさんから回ってきたアーサナバトンの、NG動画です。

You actually like DBA? There jokes aren't funny at all. Windos 95? Seriously DB has nothing like that. Piccolo as a Yoshi. Piccolo was created before Yoshi, Mario doesn't exist in DB, not to mention Goku doesn't play games. They have to reach so far out of series for jokes and base most of their "humor" on dub mistakes. YGOA actually goes with in series stuff and rarely reaches outside series for humor. DBA is one of the most overrated things I have ever seen and I'm glad Toei tries to stop it.

Not to mention, DBA has not helped things and spread things that actually aren’t true. Such as Krillin being weak, Goku being a bad father, Yamcha being worthless, etc,etc. So people who have barely watched the series, or watched it when they were younger, or got into it because of DBA. Think these things are true and go in with Confirmation bias and don’t believe otherwise cause “DBA said so.”            

Okay, I don’t know how much DBA you’ve seen, but you clearly haven’t seen that much given the first few episodes make those kinds of jokes. I will agree, the first few episodes of DBA’s first season are its worse, however, I don’t think those are problems anymore. If there is a joke on Piccolo and his species it is now an accurate one of him being a slug man because that is what they are and what Toriyama used as a naming scheme for all the Namek Namekians. DBA is a series that definitely drops a lot of its problems early and has a noticeable increase around its second season. As for comparisons to YGOA, Yugioh is a much different animal, as the anime not abridged has a lot of things you can make fun of, it is a treasure trove of mockery and that is before the inclusion of the 4kids dialogue and addition.

So YGOA relies on that a lot more, it riffs itself because Yugioh the series has a lot you can make fun of. But DBA and its humor come from the caricatures of the characters it has created coupled with their vocal performances. Vegeta is hilarious as being the totaal rage filled behemoth that is made out of all this pride, Abridged Perfect Cell is hilarious as being this so on high pompous character because he has the power to back it up. Which you can see as just exaggerations of the characters from canon.

Clearly that type humor must have some level of appeal to you because that is something YGOA does a lot too, with Kaiba’s over abundant love for the Blue-Eyes white dragon or Marik clearly being homosexual or Tristan being an absolute idiot. Both series are self contained as of now, and either reach out when they want to make certain jokes like YGOA having Rex and Weevil being Bevis and Butthead or the Yoshi reference. But both series rely on the humor of the world they’ve made from the canon.

As for spreading bad messages: A lot are actually rooted in truth. Krillian is weaker than most of the cast he is the jobber of the Z fighters you can see that throughout his entire z to super run. But the series is never overly malicious about it as it keeps in his moment of solar flaring Dedoria and even states Krillian out smarted Frieza, but did forget to use Destructo Disk even though it is arguably one of the best techniques in the series. Goku as a bad father is in an extent true, not just of Goku but a lot of anime dads, and references that Gohan was more raised and molded by Piccolo. Which in canon is very true, look at the fight against Saonel and Prini. Yamacha being useless has always been in the fandom before DBA. Toriyama was a writer who dropped the ball on him. The point is, a lot of this is true to an extent, if a little exaggerated, but it is the point of an abridge parody of the series. And if you actually listen to a lot of Team Four Star they clearly love the series with its faults and while they make fun of it, it clearly doesn’t mean there isn’t a starting respect for what Toriyama made. Looking at YGOA, Tristan is shown to literally be the most worthless, impossible to function human ever, when if we go by canon, at worst he didn’t do anything, he just stood around. The point is, most of these are exaggerations rooted in truth.

I can never tell someone what they should or shouldn’t like, nor would I ever say, my way is the right one and yours isn’t, but I will say this, comedy is a subjective medium. It is hard to find a formula or understanding that will appeal to EVERYONE. I love John Oliver and Last Week Tonight, but I personally don’t find Steven Colbert all fun at all even though both of their humor is based on the same things. I love South Park, but hate Family Guy, even thought you could say that there is some similarities between their comedic style. It is hard to say how someone can find something that works for one series, but not for another. And that is where subjectivity comes into play, there is no accounting for taste when writing a comedy, the creator simply puts forward what thy consider to good for the audience to either accept or not, and if numbers prove anything, a lot of people like DBA. Weather you find that good or bad, that is just how it is.

昨日のクラスで、今年のお仕事はすべて終了です。 　 １年間とても充実した時間を過ごすことができました。 私はヨガを教えているけれど、そのクラスの中で感じたことや体験したことを伝えて頂いたり、色々な質問を頂く機会が多くあります。それを通して私自身が学ぶことがたくさんあって、そのクラスで受け取るものが一番多い生徒は私じゃないかという気さえしています。 　 たゆまずに、学び続けたいと思います。 ヨガを教える身として、ヨガの本質をきちんと伝えられるように。 クラスに来てくださって私にたくさんのことを教えてくださるみなさんに、ヨガにずっと親しんでいただけるように。 　 さて、最終クラスのあと、スタジオの蕎麦師匠から、手打ち蕎麦を頂きました。しかもこだわりのつゆ付き。 美味しかった♡ 猫が海苔を狙っています。笑
