his ego level is too damn high
why.. does she look like someone straight out of Astral World..?
Memory World arc is hurting my brain
the animation is absolutely awful
so we are at the final arc and there are a lot of questions already..
Sugoroku reading hieroglyphs as he is pursuing the ultimate game, when asked why he could interpret them, he says “I can’t... I’m rather surprised myself.”
edit: nevermind, I forgot about Shimon. But he and Atem were not related, were they? Does this matter?
does this mean.. it is not Yugi, necessarily, who is the reincarnation of Atem, but his family, who descends from that pharaoh’s bloodline? Or it could be both these things? If that is the case, the same would have happened to Ryou and his family ー his last name comes from his ancestor himself. That would, maybe, explain the reason why this works for Kaiba too, even though he does not have an “spirit” besides him, but he is still the modern counterpart of an ancient Egyptian
it is understandable to see the links in the Ishtar family, for example, as they are all from Egypt, but it does not make much sense how all these Japanese folks are related and one of them to a pharaoh
another question is how Yugi’s grandpa managed to decipher that writing without any previous connection to that place, language and people? For the other three, Yugi, Ryou and Kaiba, because they have had contact with various elements directly connected to the past (Millennium Items, God cards), it would make sense that they would be able to understand the language, as if it had unlocked memories or gave them enlightenment of some sort; but for Sugoroku there was nothing, only his own curiosity and drive to find games and play them. Probably by the time this has happened, he was not that much into Egyptology as he later came to be
just how deep does the rabbit hole go?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Jounouchi is so fucking dense man
