I have a question that I hope doesn’t come off the wrong way: what made you decide to write Tony the way you did in yhhmsgm? Do you dislike his character or was it more of a plot device?
Plot device! Love Tony, buuuut I do think it fits with his character to give Bucky absolutely no leeway whenever he gets the chance.
As far as canon divergence goes, yhhmsgm is set as if everything up to Infinity War happened as is… but then they won in Infinity War, so there was none of that Endgame nonsense. So that means the whole Civil War fallout thing happened. Tony and Steve have mostly reconciled, but there is still that bit of hostility toward Bucky.
With that said… Tony assisted Bucky with his trial, and Pepper is a saint and helps him in multiple ways. There’s no real ill will, I just see it as Tony’s immature (for lack of a better word) grudge. And slightly reactive temper, y’know.
There is also a bit of redemption coming for Tony in the finale, so ☺️

Steve’s jealousy doesn’t manifest as spite. It manifests as timidness and insecurity— like, why could she do what he couldn’t? But he knows the answer to that, of course. It’s the fresh start. The lack of expectations. The chance to start over. Steve is intimidated, but he can’t argue with that; he understands.
And when you really love someone, you want what’s best for them, even if it’s not what you hoped it would be. Steve knows he wasn’t right for Bucky— he knows that he hurt him, and he hates that Bucky suffered because of his choices. And he knows that, hypothetically, if Bucky were to leave reader and just be with Steve, Steve would end up hurting him again. Not on purpose! But it’s the nature of their personalities. Bucky needs more than Steve has to offer.
Steve loves that reader is so good for Bucky, and of course it helps that he really likes her, too. And yeah, there’s that small part of him that’s jealous, but with the way things are going… Steve might be able to get what he wants, too.
