Last time I thought about yhs was in the Minecraft resurgence of 2019 and I almost rewatched it and I almost want to now but I don't think I could because of sg being.... Himself...

I've been wanting to rewatch YHS for months, too, but at this point his voice activates my fight or flight ngl AIWUD

for Grian lore its kinda worth it . Characters like Ellen, Dom, J, Silly, Sookie, Soul, JTS, Hidden, etc are all fun too and helps out.

Dom's still super fucking cool too. If you look in the description, he actually directed Grian's tour of that one city he was using for inspiration. He helped with that !!!!!

I heard Gareth is awesome too. I heard from a retelling of a Dom stream ( i need to watch the vod but man. Dom please i cannot understand you that microphone is BAD Dom please-) that Gareth apparently has watched every video from Grian and like . i love those vibes .

Almost everyone except for the person who technically owns the series is great and that's the sad thing !

my relationship with YHS is complicated but like . yeah sometimes its worth watching. its batshit and pretty bad but also good in an awful way

Thinking about yhs is so weird bc I don't remember any of it (for unrelated reasons) but I know that I watched and enjoyed it in like elementary school and I should not have

yeah that kinda be how it is, sounds like the general experience

there's two ways YHS lingers with you:

One, you forgot all about it but still have an inkling of something absurd you watched

Two! It stuck with you and haunted your every thought until you find one thing that pushes you over and leads you to rewatch it . it never leaves and never left.

The average age of folks who watched it that i've met has been 9-13. which, man. the knowledge of the, what, seven year old? who was in a fucking episode of yhs.. man.

so like if one wanted to subject themselves to the horrors of yhs… what would be the best way to do so

One: watch it with friends ! this is optional but genuinely makes the experience so much better

Two: Consider the triggers. Nothing is super serious and to some extent thats bad because you'll see them laugh about super serious shit such as suicide and not say much about it afterwards

Three: adblocker. dont finanically support S*mG. there are many reasons for this . namely in regards to the content- he didn't pay his crew and instead actively profited off them and their image.

Four: Liveblogging can be fun with it!! All the Fumblr (YHS Tumblr, you'll understand the name if you watch the series) that are still hanging on love newbies.

Five: Maybe consider skipping Tokyo Soul, season 2. It can be good for some things but god. it is. worse than YHS in terms of making sense.

Six: Once you finish? learn a brief history of Fumblr the past year because man . we had some experiences . Domrao, our beloved . im sorry you now live knowing what kinning is sir thank you for being in a minecraft roleplay like six years ago

feel like i joined the yhs renaissance Too Late- half of the yhs blogs are inactive :(

Yeah man :( Sorry about that. A second renaissance is never impossible. I still genuinely love the show even if I don’t have the ability to stomach it at the moment.

You have to remember that a lot of the accounts you see, were people exposed to S^m and just. don’t want to be involved.

This account was supposed to be all about yandere high school, I joined probably second-wave of yhs blogs, believe it or not? 

Lotta folks involved just want to move on. Which, yeah, makes sense. it was fucking yandere high school. when you have to explain the twenty something triggers in a minecraft roleplay for the tenth time you start to question why you, yourself, are still there.

There will always be fans of it, though! don’t be shy to make content. I’d definitely recommend though stating your opinion on S^m somewhere, if you have a solely YHS blog or anything.

I personally don’t interact with any yhs content if there’s not a tag stating their position, they’re someone I know personally, or they’re someone following me.

This has been in my head for a while and just wanted to ask you : do you remember that kid that was on yhs as a birthday gift?

..yeah. i defenitely do. I think about them a lot and hope they’re?? just?? like, okay??? 

From what i’ve watched and heard, a lot of Sam stans who grew up with him were. very fucking much influenced by the behavior of him in his series. I’m sure that fans of yhs harassed and threatened them. I think at one point, every young YHS fan wanted to be that kid. I know i did.

Hope they’re okay, and that I’m wrong about how the fans might’ve acted towards them.

Either way, still fucking funny that Sam refuses to say that kids watched/were the intended audience and the main viewers, when he just straight up had a real kid in an episode who was a fan :/
