‘ just so you know ---- some kid came in earlier talkin’ about his girlfriend or fiance --- apparently she passed through not too long ago. you wouldn’t know anything about that, would you? ‘
she’s generally curious, that, and she can’t put her finger on it. she vaguely remembers a girl coming through here ( too many people came through this town and she’s grown numb to it by now, usually. ) and jonah practically lived at the bar some days ----- she really should start charging him rent or something and make a few bucks.
