Michael Langdon could convince you to do almost anything. Maybe not, like, murder, but you're pretty sure he could convince you to hide a body if he did murder someone. You love him so much that it's easy to say yes to what he wants, and you know he feels the same way towards you. As you lay on top of him in the bed in just a shirt and your underwear, you think you've found the one thing you might say no to.

"I—what?" You need to hear him say it again; after all, he was mumbling it against your lips, so maybe you misheard him.

Michael smirks, his hands still tightly on your thighs. "Don't be shy, now. Sit on my face."

He's patient with you as your brain tries to catch up, but he still rolls his eyes good-naturedly. "To sit on my face, yes."

"No, but you almost killed me." You lay a hand against your chest, feeling the way that your heart races underneath it. "Where'd you learn how to do that?"

He shrugs coyly. "I did some reading."

You huff out a laugh, your lips meeting his when he comes up to your side to check on you more thoroughly. "Well, next time you find any new tricks while you're reading, give a girl a little more warning."

“Alec,” Magnus takes a deep breath. “I will never forgive myself if something happens to her.”

“She is not your responsibility,” Alec shakes his head.

“This isn’t about responsibility,” Magnus clarifies. “She was there for me. Now I have to be there for her.”

“Do you have to be there for her right now?” Alec growls.

“Do you not understand how an emergency works?” Magnus asks incredulously. “Honestly, Alec-”

“What about the kids, Magnus?” Alec demands. “I can’t keep an eye on them-”

“Your mother will be here shortly. This mansion is full of people. I will make sure they are taken care of,” Magnus promises.

“You can’t leave,” Alec shakes his head.

“I didn’t ask for your permission,” Magnus clarifies.

“You can’t leave,” Alec says again.

“Don’t do this,” Magnus sighs.

“If you leave me right now,” Alec says. “I’ll never forgive you.”
