what're the differences between tged novel and manhwa?

buddy that's a rabbit hole that you do not want to fall into because it will probably ruin your perception of the manhwa when you realize just how badly they twisted the novel-

... but if I had to sum it up (feel free to ask me to elaborate on any of these points because I will rant about this topic for days):

lloyd and javier's characters have been warped into ugly evil money-hungry landlord and his corrupted henchman-

a lot of arcs go very differently in the manhwa, such as the bone dragon arc, hell train arc (og!lloyd...), heart of winter arc, etc. the farming demons are completely manhwa-only in particular.

alilloyd keeps getting added into plot points they were not in before, which then ruins the moments lloyd and javier originally had in the novel,,

there's probably more that I'm missing but I'm writing this after I just woke up so my brain is not fully online yet (also I haven't read tged in a good while after I dropped the manhwa tbh)-

ooo good question, I have so many! there are a couple of javisuho ones thrown in here too-

more than what was asked- lloyd asks javier to dance with him while they relax outside away from a party and feelings come forth

violets for master, my everlasting love- javier gets hanahaki and lloyd panicks trying to figure out how to help him

cycles of our love- javier confesses and the moment turns into a time loop for lloyd

within the wake- au about suho who's a merman that gets caught and javier's a scientist studying him (unfinished but I love it too much not to include it,,)

please kiss me, I'm drowning- au about post-novel javier meeting selkie suho

system error- javier can suddenly see the system and hijinks ensue

the marriage duel (hi sun!)- alicia calls for a tournament for suho's heart post-novel and suho and javier discuss what to do about it

all your letters in one basket- javier offers lloyd a love letter and lloyd assumes it's one for javier (it's not)

and also a few series, aka I just like a lot of the fics these authors wrote ehehe:

To help anon too with the differences in the manhwa I think Suho's friend shows up a lot, also the Frontera parents had an inkling about how Lloyd isn't their Lloyd, only when Lloyd used the Jewel of Truth and from the letter while in the manhwa the parets confronted Javier. Also, in the manhwa Javier kept using Suho for Lloyd while in the novel he uses Lloyd even if he found out he is Suho, the angels and king of hell aren't old men in the novel.

just to note, beef guy (I know he has a name but I'm blanking on it) is another manhwa-only character; novel suho was very much alone,,

and yeah, another major difference is that secrets are very lightly kept in the manhwa tbh... like you said, javier basically never calls suho lloyd in the novel, and that's because he willingly goes with lloyd's keeping his identity a secret even though he knows the truth-

really, a large part of the novel was them playing a tense game of cat and mouse with lloyd's identity- whereas in the manhwa, it was revealed just. so easily and he's practically just suho for the rest of time now.. zero suspense.

hi anon!! (—∀—)╯honestly I am like. the worst person to go to for headcanons cause I am very head empty no thoughts but here's a few:

javier likes helping lloyd with simple tasks, like brushing her hair, or putting on jewelry, where it’s obviously an excuse to be close to her, but neither are complaining.

speaking of hair, I think both of them play with each other's hair a lot hehe-

I feel like lloyd would be uncomfortable with men flirting with her because she never got that sort of attention before and javier would see this and just. gently nudge her way into their conversation so they'd notice her and she'd deal with their flirting instead.
