I’m so jealous of my past self when I see all of my TimeHops. This is a crazy year but I appreciate every fun thing I’ve gotten to experience thus far in life. 5 years ago I was leaving LA on a plane (coincidentally) with Tom Arnold, heading back to ROC to see Yip Deceiver. 6 years ago I went to a Jeff Koons exhibit in NYC, then I was at a private party thrown by CBGBs honoring Jane’s Addiction (I held hands with Dave Navarro & Perry Farrell! The members of DEVO were fellow guests. I mingled with Mark Mothersbaugh!) Then the next day I got to see Jane’s & DEVO play outside in the middle of Times Square. 7 years ago I saw Yip Deceiver at Bug Jar. As ADHD & CFS suck the energy from me daily, at least I can think back on all the fun times I’ve had as I take a meditative disco nap in hopes of rebooting to get through the rest of the day.... Some days my CFS is so strong I feel like calling it a life and just napping forever. 🤪

Georgia-based three-piece Yip Deceiver released the beautifully upbeat, funky and disco-ready “Devotee” about which vocalist Davey Pierce says:

“‘Devotee’ is the product of countless late nights with The Gap Band, Cameo, and Steely Dan. Part roller boogie, part R&B, part dance, ‘Devotee’ kind of hangs out in its own little world. It is a love song, sure, but more so it’s about what you would give up to a part of something bigger than yourself and realizing that you can actually be improved if you are willing to take a chance on something new.”
