Paint the Town Floral

He could make it out. The sound of a voice, and that of a child, no less. He strained his neck trying to crane around the forest of foliage reaching out of the constraints of the containers they were in.
Despite his usually patient disposition, he soon got fed up.
“Hold on a minute–” He took a moment to slowly lean into a crouch until he found himself mostly eye-to-eye with the child whose voice he heard. And to his surprise, the child had scales and fur– or was it hair– irrelevant.
“Hello, Mengie,” He replied, “I’d offer to shake your hand, if not for my little friends here,” He gently nudged at the baskets in his arms.
Much to his delight, she held a small pot holding a single emery blossom.
“An Emery flower!” He exclaimed with a smile, “What a lovely surprise, and so early in the season!
“There’s a lot of them growing where my mom lives, and I saw a bunch of new flowers appearing around town so I kinda want to see if I could plant mine too! Is that what you’re doing?” She could get Masu more flowers later, but planting hers sounded a lot of fun. When she saw his arms were full she frowned slightly.
“Isn’t that too much to carry though? Like-- can you see like that? What if you trip and drop them everywhere? Why don’t I help you carry them!”
