Is it controversial to ask if Mistaivan is a thing? And if so, what do we think the dynamics would be?

So! It's definitely been a minute since I've last made an actual post about The Sting. I'm not gonna lie, between moving, starting school, and working on my other projects, I did forget about The Sting.
Now,rather than picking up where I left off, I've decided to completely redo everything that's been put down so far! At the moment, any posts I've made about TS prior to now are completely irrelevant to the story- however, there are some ideas I may revisit, as well as a few small details that I plan to keep, so we're not exactly starting completely from scratch.
I won't be posting about TS on this blog for much longer, but all info and updates will soon be posted to @thestingershive , so I definitely recommend anyone who's interested to go and follow the account! Polls should be coming out soon, so be on the lookout for those!
I'm extremely excited to finally take the time to plan out and begin working on The Sting, as well as find other people who are just as enthusiastic about seeing what comes next as I am! As per usual, any and all recommendations & requests are welcome at any time- I'd love to hear some ideas from a mind outside of my own♡

Hypothetically speaking: let's say Elaine decided to walk into the caves to die. She just kept walking, deeper and deeper, until she couldn't anymore- until the fumes filled her lungs and tangled around her throat like an unseen rope...
And, hypothetically speaking- what if the cave she chose wasn't as empty as she thought? What if Akilah finds her, half unconscious with her eyes already rolling back, and brings her home?
But where is home? It's not back at camp- not after what happened to Mari...
So where is 'home'?
In another cave, of course.
It's ironic, honestly. Elaine went to a cave to fucking die, and now a cave was where she was going to live for the foreseeable future? Oh, yeah, that was some next level bullshit, in her opinion...
Yet it was still better than going back there- wasn't it?
Thankfully, they don't stay alone for long. Eventually, Akilah comes back with Nat and Travis. Nat needed somewhere to hide from Shauna, and, fortunately, Travis had managed to find her before the others could. It was his idea to go to the caves, the initial plan being to hide away, just the two of them, until rescue came...
And then they found Akilah.
Or, more accurately speaking- Akilah found them.
She had left the cave one day, not too long after rescuing Elaine. She wanted to give the older girl time to rest, resulting in her leaving the safety of their new space alone one day in search of some kind of food.
When she first heard the voices, she didn't register who they belonged to. All she knew was that someone was out there, and she was on her own. But, for the sake of getting back to Elaine in one piece and keeping her alive, she knew she'd have to be brave.
To her eventual surprise (and relief), Akilah found that the voices she had been hearing belonged to Natalie and Travis- and, long story short, it didn't take long for them to agree to come with her to the caves (especially after learning who else was there)...

In another life, one where the plane doesn't crash- Elaine brings Nat home to meet her parents. They go out on late-night dates, and sneak through eacheother's windows, and go to dances together... Elaine's parents adore Nat, and god knows Danica can get along with practically anyone-
Before she can even realize it's happening, Nat finds herself a permanent spot in the Teagues' home. eventually, the girls get older. Natalie and Elaine get married and have a little girl named Laura, and probably end up with more than a few pets...
In this same life, Danica and Lottie spend a little more time together. They find excuses to ride to school together, just the two of them- they brush hands for a little too long, let their hugs linger, and share secret kisses wherever they can. Lottie turns eighteen about a year into the relationship, and suddenly she and Danica are packing her things so that she can move in with the family...
These events cannot take place in any other scenario. The only way that Elaine and Danica Teagues will get everything they have ever wanted, is if the plane does not crash-
There is only one world in which the plane does not go down.
It isn't this one.

Allie couldn't help but be caught off guard. She hadn't said anything wrong, so why was Elaine giving her that look?
Elaine sat across from Allie, her tray of food untouched in front of her. She was looking at Allie as if she had been insulted, her brown eyes narrowed and her head angled to the side. Allie could see the tick in the older girl's jaw, her brows furrowing as she cocked her head.
"El? What's with the look?"
"You said I'm acting different, what the hell is that supposed to mean?"
The biting tone of Elaine's voice came as a shock to Allie. Elaine was always nice. Always patient, always warm... So what was all this?
"I was just saying—"
"Yeah? Well, maybe you need to fucking stop that."
Elaine suddenly stood up, her movements harsh and her expression more than just irritated as she grabbed her bag, not saying another word as she turned around and stormed off, disappearing somewhere around the corner...

Okay, as we know, I've been getting into writing again- okay, great, yippie for me! or whatever—
We also know that I love crossovers- and am currently working on a crossover fic between The 100 and Yellowjackets (titled A Lack of Belonging)..
