now that the girls were confirmed, it seemed like a debut would happen. sure, it had been confirmed and all but yubin didn’t believe anything until they stood on their debut stage. even then, yubin wasn’t sure about it. but what she was sure about was that she would be moving into her new dorm. and she had a friend to help her pack, “welcome to my humble home.” yubin opened the door and spread her arms wide so doyeon could get a look. “i think i’ll miss the pole i installed down below. i would practice pole dancing...” a small left her mouth and she dropped her coat on the couch.
“get comfortable, i pulled out all of the clothes i had and then i down-sized it. so now we just have to down-size the down-size and pack it up.” she turned and grinned at doyeon. “are you thirsty? i should say...my mom might stop by, so don’t be alarmed if you hear the door opening.”
packing had come easier than expected, she knew she would have to do her best to pack light. so on her own, she elimated a few piles of clothing. now she had one fairly large one and with the help of doyeon and her mom, she finally narrowed it down. now she had arrived at their dorm and before she got settled in, she waited for sejeong and sana to show up. dorm rooms affairs had settled pretty quickly. still, she didn’t want to settle into the room without waiting for the other two.
yubin also knew that she was a bit early for the move in. why not have a look around? it still didn’t feel too real, the fac that they were moving into dorms. this was really it. in a short while, depending on how long it took to get their debut ready, they’d really be k.arma. finally, she heard the sound of someone coming in and left the room she was in to find out who it was.
at least they knew what they would debut with now. a single album. she wondered if future fans would like it, if they would want more. either way, they had their lines now and that meant practicing with everything she had. for now, she was in the dorm, on her bed with the lyrics in front of her. and across from her sat ness. they had been working on one of yubin’s favorite parts, what say she would say the opening line for the rap of no playboy.
“let me try to break it down for you one time.” this time she said it a little sass but yubin couldn’t help but laugh. “how was that one?” she said in various ways, some more sexy, a little more badass. even a cute one which she new wouldn’t work. “i don’t know, i just really love the line.” even if some might find it a little cheesy.
“hey!” she had been looking for the girl earlier, but it had been a little hard to find her. and she understood, a big change was coming and they needed to prepare for it. so, she relaxed a bit knowing she would see the girl at some point, and finally she did. yubin had been working on the lines given and stopped for a break. and just as she left out, she saw ness walking by. quickly, she called the other over and closed the door behind her new group member.
“i had been trying to track you down. i wanted to talk for a second. it’ll be quick, remember when you checked up one during our evaluations a while ago.” she smiled at the memory, someone checking on her own mental well being. something she often ignored, if given the chance. yubin took a step closer to cupped vanessa cheek’s in her hand, squishing them a little. “congratulates leader-nim.” she continued to give ness a large smile, a real one before she dropped one hand and fixed the other girls air with other. “because of that, i can fully put my trust in you. i know you’ll lead us well.”
for all the performances she managed to be in under the company, this felt like a different level. simply for the fact that they had been pulled aside for official lessons on how to manager their faces. it wasn’t something she expected, but it could be a little fun at least. she had been the first one to arrived, aside from the few coaches that would be there to teach them. so yubin kept to herself against the walls until the doors opened and sohee walked in.
that managed to put a smile on her face and she hurried to meet sohee halfway. now that someone she was comfortable with was here, she could relax a little. “you’re here! i think we’ll start now and youngjae will be joining us in a bit.” the three of them would be in the center for the final show. “i didn’t think we’d really get lesson’s for something like this though.” yubin didn’t have a real reason why, the thought just hadn’t occurred to her. “i think i’ll feel a little awkward..but i tend feel awkward off so...” she simply finished it off with a shrug.
there wasn’t anything too bad in her review. it had been the normal, right path. do better. or that’s what she allowed herself to take from it. if she made too much attention to the tone and the words of hayoon, she wouldn’t be able to do anything. but she did already have a few ideas for her solo performance. in fact. she slipped into one of the girls practice rooms, set up her laptop so she could properly see parts of the dance and let herself has much fun as she wanted.
she had gone through most of the song and it just reached the one of the more fun parts. her head kept moving around and around in a perfectly circle motion. it wasn’t until her head came up that she realized someone was in the room. doyeon. and yubin rushed to turn off the music, a bright blush across her cheeks. “d-doyeon...hey...” as if she hadn’t been throwing her head around to the word bitches for the past three minutes.
after this performance, all she wanted was a nice two day rest from anything performance related. simply because it felt like a lot in a short amount of time, but it didn't mean she hated it. in fact, she very much enjoyed everything. just a small rest and those vacation days she never got to use. if she was as little braver, she might've asked if she could stay in jeju for a bit. it felt like they didn't have enough time to explore.
but there wasn't anything to be done about it. instead she threw everything into giving a good show. not having one problem during rehearsal. and when it came to the real stage. she would show out. as much as she had been allowed anyway. and then it was time for them to take the stage and yubin watched from the side as chanyeol started them off. it wasn't in her interest to become a dj, but she would've loved to be able to work with the other producers. just that.
what was done was done.
instead she had to focus on the performance. as soon as he finished djing, they started to move towards the stage. the first half would be simple movements, but sharp and sexy. it was something she had been able to do with ease. it wasn't until it was the trcg group turn to be in the spotlight that she became a little nervous. it had been a while since she was on stage in front of his many people, and if they did forget about her. they were reminded that she was still apart of trc. but yubin couldn't let it show on her face, instead she used every bit of charisma she had to make an impact when she was in the center.
it wasn't over after that though, all of the trainee's were dancing again. this time it was pure hiphop and yubin was thankful for the months leading up to this. she hadn't realized how far behind she was in this genre but now she was at least passable on stage. and she couldn't complain much, when the stage was coming to an end, she was in the center. making sure the facial lesson's they had paid off. just as the final synth voice spoke, yubin brought her hands together as if she was in prayer and gave a final wink.
she had heard about the new trainee. another girl from the mga4′s. it was amazing, even now or later trc managed to get who they wanted to get. what she hadn’t expected, was that the new trainee would be added to the trc girl group project. she couldn’t say it she was completely for it. even with loosing jinsoul, they had developed a dynamic and trc would ruin it or try to at least.but she did want to be the last person that was against it. yeah, it was true it sucked and it was a tad unfair but she also knew what was like to be on the end of everyone hating you. especially, trc.
so after she arrived to the company a bit earlier and started to look for sana. finally she found the girl, in one of the dance rooms. most likely preparing for one of their many performances. she opened the door with a knock and then slowly closed it behind her. “hello.” she was a tad awkward but she didn’t want to come off as mean, she knew her normal blank look could be a little off-putting. “nice to formally met you, i’m kim yubin...and ah you saw me before right? well, anyway. welcome to trc and the debut project. if you need anything, i’m the resident old lady so you can ask me and i can’t promise i’ll be the best of help but i’ll try my best.”
