When she got the text notification the other day, Sejeong stared at it for a while.  Well, maybe it was only a few moments, but to her, it seemed like a long time.  It was a number that she was thinking that she might never see pop up on her phone again.  Sana.  Seeing the former K.arma member’s name pop up with the little smiley face Sejeong had saved for the contact seemed almost surreal to her.  She had missed the other girl so much and it all came flooding back to her.

The texts turned to a call, and then plans were made, Sejeong was going to head over to Sana’s new place where she had just moved back to Korea and looking to start over again.  She caught a ride over and made her way inside the building, taking a deep breath before ringing the buzzer, waiting for her to come answer the door and be let it, the nerves of reconnecting making her smile a bit more nervous than usual.

after the tension that she undoubtedly made within her own group of friends, yoohyeon felt the intense urge to try something new-- a new game, to be specific. instead of making yet another riot account to start grinding league of legends she decided that it’s time to give overwatch the chance to win her over and boy, did it win her over. it took her only a day to get used to it all, it took her another few days to actually get a hang of it, but before she knew it, she was hooked.

while she is used to play both alone and with friends, yoohyeon has grown accustomed to the luxury of live updates through discord and chat systems-- that is precisely what she did in this new game also, which ultimately resulted in an occasional friend request. some she sent, and some she received. now, there was a major skill difference between sana and herself, but that didn’t necessarily matter, they clicked regardless and yoohyeon honestly found relief in that.

she needed something like this to keep her mind from spiraling, catastrophic thinking isn’t her trait usually, but it has become so as of late. eagerly, as eagerly as she can when she is stuck inside a dark place, she greets the other female. “hey! i hope i didn’t keep you waiting,” she is smiling as she gesture towards the empty chair as to ask if she can sit down. “may i? wah, it’s weird to see you in the real world~  you are out of this world, so pretty!” she says, genuinely.

hello everyone, coming to you after everything.

thank you for all the love and support through out these past months, even the negative comments. i truly couldn’t have done it without the amazing people that i have teamed up with.

first -- i have some people i want to mention.

@jaebvmrk oppa, you were the catalyst that helped jump start the confidence i have today when it comes to singing, i still have a long way to go but hopefully i made you proud! @rkpjy oppa, i know our week was turbulent but i really did enjoy working with you. even though i am younger than you, you treated me as an equal despite everything. i appreciate you and i hope that you will succeed in the future. @ryujinrk, ryujinnie. i don’t know when you’ll see this but i thought of you when i performed, i wanted to carry your desire to succeed. unnie loves you and is here for you anytime. @rktaeyang​, hey oppa. i did this thing. i got 1st place, i don’t know what else to say, i hope that things look bright for your future, you deserve this as much as i do. all.

mnet countdown was a great show for them to be on. sohee always wanted one of her fancam focused videos to go online and mnet was the show that provided that for groups. she wasn’t expecting it to go viral or anything. she just wanted to have a focused version of herself be available online. just the idea of it was cool.

though this came with hard work. news wasn’t a hard choreography and the introduction to the song was just as fun. it meant that they had to be at the top of their game. although after today, they weren’t going to be able to do the intro portion with the trc trainees. even after 5 shows, sohee gets a certain rush from performing on stage. even though she’s a little tired from time to time, she usually makes sure she gets adequate napping time.

her favourite part of music shows was when they all gathered to hear the announcements of who was the winner for the show airing. sohee never came on stage expecting to win. nor did she expect k.arma to chart at all. it was their debut, after all. she just liked the atmosphere and being close to everyone and other idols.

“who do you think we’ll see this time?” she asked sana as they got on stage. the staff directed them towards the front which was to be expected if they were top four of the mnet charts. she looked around to see who was there with them. “ah, i wonder where our convex sunbaenims are. i wanted to wave to yien before the show is over.”

packing had come easier than expected, she knew she would have to do her best to pack light. so on her own, she elimated a few piles of clothing. now she had one fairly large one and with the help of doyeon and her mom, she finally narrowed it down. now she had arrived at their dorm and before she got settled in, she waited for sejeong and sana to show up. dorm rooms affairs had settled pretty quickly. still, she didn’t want to settle into the room without waiting for the other two. 

yubin also knew that she was a bit early for the move in. why not have a look around? it still didn’t feel too real, the fac that they were moving into dorms. this was really it. in a short while, depending on how long it took to get their debut ready, they’d really be k.arma. finally, she heard the sound of someone coming in and left the room she was in to find out who it was.

which trc trainees/karma members are you closest to?

a smile forms, enthused that she’s given the opportunity to talk about a few of her favourite people. “in karma, i think i’m getting a lot closer to doyeon. we’ve been practicing a lot lately and i’ve shared with her things i’ve never had the chance to properly talk about to anyone before. i trust her a lot and i think that our friendship will only grow from here! of course i’m also close to sohee unnie and yubin unnie as i’ve been trainees with them the longest out of all the other girls. they’re the reliable unnies i will always look up to no matter what. ness unnie too! our leader who i love dearly and whom i’m happy to say i can run to whenever i’m having troubles. as for sejeong unnie and sana, we’re working on becoming closer now and i’m so excited to see what will come of it in the future!” it was a long response but she’s happy to have mentioned everyone.

“as for trc trainees, i would say i’m closest to somi, sowon unnie, yuta oppa, and chanyeol oppa.” she smiles. “somi and i have gotten very close because of the debut project and she’s easily one of my favourite people ever. we’re very similar in personalities and i love that so much about us! sowon unnie is someone that i have a lot of respect for and someone i admire. i’m still sad i can’t debut with her because i thought for sure she’d be with me for this one.” the frown disappears as quickly as it came. “yuta oppa and i have gotten close because of bananas.” she laughs a little. “but for real, i admire his strength and his bravery a lot! lastly, chanyeol oppa and i became close because he takes me out to yummy food places and plays radio dj with me. he seems like a silly guy but he’s actually very reliable!”
