Ok not to be that guy but it’s interesting how people seem to be more willing to defend Lisa’s police work than when she’s just,, behaving kinda weirdly

#things that make me go hmmmmmm #I do think it’s one of the problems with them both wanting to have these long drawn out crime drama stories #and have their cops be characters #is that it’s kinda impossible to do the former on a regular basis without making the police look incompetent as hell #which!!! you can’t fault them for their realism there!!!#this isn’t specifically about today’s episode. just kinda. in general #this is only tangentially relevant but I think about Lisa’s relationship with the police a lot #like do you ever consider how for someone who is constantly afraid of doing the wrong thing and questioning herself constantly #being able to justify anything she does at work as being on the side of the law and so ultimately for the greater good #is probably a very alluring prospect to her #and I think why she can be so cocky and self assured at work #because she can abandon Lisa and become DS Swain. she is the law and the law is always right #yknow???#it’s such an interesting aspect of her character that they’ll never explore because they couldn’t produce one critical thought on policing #if they tried!!!#coronation street

Something I really especially love about btas is that every character is just… a human. Batman doesn't just show up and incapacitate 30 people no issue, he has to fight and brawl with just 1 or 2 henchmen. He can be taken out by hits and poisons and such. The rogues have to surrender when the cops get guns to their faces, and can be overpowered even by normal people. Joker isn't some pure evil incarnation of the Devil or whatever, he's just… a really bad man. Same for every other villain and character. And Bruce actually gets to show personality and emotion beyond Brooking and Grunting. He makes jokes and laughs and gets sad.

I'm really getting to understand why people call this the best Batman adaptation.
