We are officially into the 6th month of the year. The summer is fully here, meteorological not astronomical, and the cooler days are behind us and there are still warmer days to come. Workout routines and running are on the fritz and change is a must!
June 2nd starts the first round of Summer Session classes at the YMCA. I will be taking Circuit Scramble and Hardcore Abs. They are both Tuesday/Thursday classes. The first one is 5:30-6:15, the second class is 6:30-6:55. So those nights will definitely be busy but well worth it. I can’t wait to start the Circuit Scramble class I have heard it is completely awesome! Six weeks of fun classes here I come!!!
Today will end up being the first day to start a great base of running for my half marathon training that will start at the end of July. I haven’t done a whole lot of running up until now this year. So I am hoping that over the next two months I can build a solid base to get the half marathon training off on the right foot.
This week is also my 5th week of weight lifting. I’m not sure I have ever been this consistent with my lifting and I am feeling awesome from it! I have made sure to be keeping it light on the weights. So far it hasn’t triggered any migraines which has been awesome! I don’t want to jump up to quickly in weight and do that. So I have been working on not over doing it, but also ensuring that I move forward with my lifting progress. In two weeks I will start a slightly different program, since I am currently doing a main focus on my arms and shoulders so that I can combat the muscles that trigger my migraines. I hope that I can start going broader and into more complex moves so that my lifting will keep progressing.
June has so many big things going for it. I hope that I can stick with all of these things and that they are enjoyable!
