Hello! I am the Mod of this blog inspired by @elvis-official. This started off as a joke that I have now given lore to. Any newcomers are welcome and I do have plans for this blog, some lore related, and afterwards more chill posts. Will make a new one of these eventually.

A Memory

It is cold

I feel the world around me enter focus, pieces of glass shattered around me. I feel a yearning that I cannot describe and a sense of disconnect.

Who am I?

I....what am I here for again. I was given a task was I not. Something I must. To protect? Or was it to keep?

I look down at my...hands, yes I have hands. I always had hands, I have used them to eat, to sing, to play. Because that is what I am known for.

Know what bugs me?

People say 'motherfucker', but they don't say 'fatherfucker'.

I tried it once. Everyone was unbelievably shocked and all 'Are you OK???' I mean yes, I was annoyed, but I just didn't want to say 'motherfucker'.

I don't think most people would think of 'motherfucker' as misogynistic, but the fact that we never, ever say 'fatherfucker' shows that it is. Mothers can be treated as objects to fuck. It's insulting to someone to say that they would fuck their mother because the value of their mother to them, not because of the value of the mother in and of herself.

But fathers. You don't fuck fathers. Fathers are the ones who fuck. You can't even think of it the other way around. How dare you?

The same with 'Yo mama' jokes. They aren't harmless. They are fundamentally misogynistic in a really gross way. Haha - I got one over you because I fucked your mother. Insulting the mother, using the mother, is an insult to the person's honour. Not to the mother herself.

Again: no one says 'Yo papa'.

Because you fucking respect fathers.

And yet this is treated as harmless silly shit. By people who wouldn't tell rape jokes (even though there is an implied usage of the person's mother as a sexual object and not a sexual participant).

It pisses me off.

More people would be willing to say 'cunt' than 'fatherfucker'. Because fathers you respect, female genitals you don't.

I'd like to encourage you, if you've a tendency to say 'motherfucker', to start saying 'fatherfucker' instead. Because, no, the fact that it's offensive is not in itself a problem. Swear words are meant to be offensive. The problem is that people would only ever use gendered swear words in such a way that they degrade women, even those aimed at a man are designed to do so based off the implication that they are women, or are like women, or women that the man 'owns' have been sullied in some way. If the point of 'motherfucker' is to be really rude, try 'fatherfucker' instead. It'll be even more taboo.

See? The issue isn't about it being meant to be offensive. The issue is that most people are OK about being offensive in a way that treats women as sexual objects. They are less OK with insults that treat men that way.

And if you're not OK with insults that treat men like sexual objects, you shouldn't be OK with insults that treat women like that either.
