I'm the happiest when my hips are open. The very first time I heard a yoga teacher tell everyone in class that emotions are stored in the hips, I'm like "what? !" That can't be. It's my hips, there's no emotions there. But while I'm in pigeon, the struggle of being in that pose nearly brought me to tears. Later on, I realize that yes, the hips acts as a basin for sorting old emotions. Anger and sadness are some of the common emotions we store in our hips. So in yoga, hip openers are my bestfriend.
