i know this is vaguely out of character because raikou and yoite rarely fight side by side but IF THEY DID i love the idea of raikou being watchful of yoite and making sure that he’s alright during missions. especially if yukimi is occupied, i want raikou to keep checking to see whether yoite is okay. they’re on a mission and get unexpectedly ambushed by a rival clan. raikou stays at yoite’s back, fending off attackers with his katana. at one point, when yoite raises his finger to use his kira, raikou sees him falter. maybe he stumbles a bit. maybe his hands are shaking. in the blink of an eye, raikou lunges at yoite’s attackers, wielding shirogamon with a ferocity that only a samurai can harness. he doesn’t say anything, and yoite doesn’t say anything back, but there’s a mutual understanding that raikou will protect yoite as long as they’re both on the same side, not only because he serves under the kairoshu, but because he genuinely cares about yoite.

haku and yoite actually have very similar arcs when u think about it: theyre supposed to be antagonists (at least initially) but u have sympathy for them, their childhood revolved around being unwanted, they are ninjas w super powerful jutsu... and they both make u very sad =‘)
