      ⭐ the hardest part about literally disappearing was finding her way back. They were on Xandar when she had lost them , and it was her own damn fault that all she had to her name were her clothes and her board , but luckily , she was skilled in hotwiring so getting a ship wasn’t exactly the hardest thing to do no-- The hardest thing to do was find her way back to her captain and her crew. Sometimes it took a long time , the longest she’d been gone was a year or do , only because she was traveling across the entire galaxy to find them again. 

It’s by chance she finds them on Contraxia ( its ironic , she finds them again on the planet that she first met them on and it changed her life completely. )  , and luckily she comes back into contact with Kraglin so she could get the run down about what’s been going down and more importantly what kind of mood Yondu was in so she knew how to approach him again. 

Was she going to be a pain in the ass? Maybe. Okay , yes. She knows her way around the captains quarters , and all she had to do now was wait , he would show up eventually , and when he did , she was going to scare the shit out of him. 

Yes she missed him , but when was she known to be sappy and straightforward? She just wanted to make up for the time he lost without her being a thorn in his side.

             *   @yonblu​  ​ got   peter   a   birthday   present   !   :    Throws   a   footloose   VHS   at   him.   It's   not   wrapped.   He   got   it   from   a   dump.   Happy   late   birthday!   He   completely   forgot.

YONDU WAS NEVER SUBTLE , NOR WAS HE PUNCTUAL .   it   didn’t   surprise   peter   that   the   old   man   had   forgotten   his   birthday.   peter   had   grown   accustomed   to   the   years   of   sitting   in   his   bedroom,   blowing   out   a   candle   while   listening   to   his   mother’s   mix - tapes.   it   was   nothing   he   ever   expected   anyone   to   pity   him   for;   he   never   minded   spending   the   day,   just   him   and   his   mom,   a   routine   he   had   continued   starting   the   year   he   had   been   whisked   away   from   earth,   moments   after   she’d   passed.

               the   surprise   came   when   the   object   was   thrown   at   peter   with   LITTLE   warning.   peter’s   reflexes   were   subpar   at   best   (   really   ---   how   he   had   survived   all   these   years   in   space   was   a   miracle   ),   and   the   vhs   hit   him   straight   in   the   chest,   bounced   off,   and   hit   the   floor.  ❛   hey   what   the   hell   man   ?   ❜   brow   furrowed   in   frustration,   he   knelt,   his   ire   slipping   away   as   he   saw   the   name   written   across   the   tape.   FOOTLOOSE.   a   moment   of   silence   passed as   peter   stared   at   the   tape.   it   looked   rough,   like   it   might   not   even   play   ---   but   memories   resurfaced,   memories   of   that   same   tape   playing   and   his   mother   and   him   singing   loudly   to   the   music.   a   tear   slipped   down   peter’s   cheek,   and   he   forced   his   grasp   to   loosen.   he didn't want to break the damn thing.

              ❛   hey   ---   no   way   man   !   you   can’t   just   throw   this   at   me,   late,   I   might   add,   and   then   just   walk   off   !!   now   we   gotta   find   a   way   to   watch   it   like   a   gazillion   times.   I   ain’t   takin’   no   for   an   answer   so   don’t   even   try   !   ❜
