Headcanon Nico’s powers became self-detrimental bc of Nyx.

So. The thing is, Nico only started fading after he’d shadow travelled Coach Hedge, Reyna, and the Athena Parthenos across the ocean. In PJO, on the other hand, he was able to utilize his powers pretty well without passing out etc.

So what’s the problem? The problem is, that’s too many passengers.

And Nyx adores Nico enough to watch him jump through the shadows like a bunny, but the sentiment doesn’t extend to the hitch-hikers. Especially the Athena Parthenos, I think. LMAO Nyx would despise the Olympians.

Nyx is the Primordial of Night and wife to Erebus. What if she has the power to govern the the darkness? The shadows that Nico travels through? And she’s been lenient just bc she tolerates him, but the limit’s been crossed when Nico took too many non-darkness dwellers with him through her darkness?

And now Nyx’s pissed. Jealous, a little. So she wants him back. She wants Nico fully in the darkness that she holds.

So she pulls him in.

Ever think of an AU in which, instead of Percy and Jason, it's Annabeth and Reyna who are switched?

Both leaders of their respective camps. Both daughters of a war goddess. Both would probably make their way up to the upper ranks of the other camp fast enough. I think. I don't know.
