Happy anniversary dog. First show
FOREVER YOUNG 10 years of YORODEO I know it's crazy but it's true -- YORODEO has been working as Halifax's poster kings (and more!) for ten whole years. This is a huge deal for Halifax's art scene. For one thing, it's really cool these two guys have stayed here so long, working so hard. Secondly, hundreds of young artists have been MEGA influenced by these guys in a very short period of time. That's some serious stuff, right there. Personally, YORODEO's art was my first AHA! art moment when I moved to the city. I was drinking coffee alone in a downtown cafe while I borrowed their wifi and applied for a whole host of horrific minimum wage jobs. I had been out of art (ish) school for almost a year at this point. I was very much NOT keen on making art for a living. But then I found an old gig poster on this amazingly vibrant blue paper lying on the bathroom floor of the cafe. I picked it up. I fell in love. I laminated it, and you can still find it hanging in my living room. Oh, and now I try to make art for a living, which is HYSTERICAL. THIS SATURDAY! September 28th! Parentheses Gallery! Cheers,
Jei
*I toooootally screwed up the date, THIS SATURDAY. Thanks to my buddy Kenda for the correction, as that would have been bad.
