Witch Abilities- Wolf Type
Wolf witches were created with offensive capability in mind, and as such, they have very well-rounded abilities tailored for combat situations.
A wolf witch can be awoken after their 17th birthday, either through knowledge of heritage or through magical intervention. It is possible for a wolf witch to go without awakening, though the personality traits will still be evident. The main color for a wolf witch is silver, and their eyes will take on this color when large amounts of magic is being used; the eyes will also gradually change to a shade of gray over a period of twenty years, starting from awakening. This change is very subtle and slow.
Physical Benefits:
-Increased Vision, Hearing and Scent. Taste is also increased slightly, for whatever reason.
-Reflexes and Hand-Eye coordination is more streamlined and quicker, making for efficient snap decisions.
Wolf witches have a set of spells that make it easier for them to track down targets, which include incantations that allow for focus and temporarily increased accuracy. Also, wolf witches can still their movements enough to become virtually undetectable in darkly lit areas.
Offensively, wolf witches are as formidable unarmed as they are armed. With a weapon, a wolf witch can bolster the item to give an extra punch that is a little better than it would normally give. (To put it in perspective, when Dorothy attacks with her broom, it can hit with about the same force as someone swinging a heavier blunt object like an aluminum bat. If Dorothy had a more sturdy broom or a better blunt object, it would also be increased proportionally depending on the object in question.)
Unarmed, the true nature of the wolf comes out to the surface of this witch. Their source of power comes from their will, and it helps to understand that many previous witches blessed with the wolf soul have tended to be very determined women. Chief among their attacks is the ability to charge their attacks, adding an extra bit of power to their attacks much like when equipped with a weapon. Their ability to enhance their strength and durability this way allows them to fight for a while, even if it all centers around this charging tactic.
However, some wolf witches have managed to refine their magical skill to perform a very gorgeous and dangerous attack: The Claws of Fenris, a combination of arming oneself with their own magic, through pure willpower. The claws with invariably look like a shimmery silver color in the form of a pair of clawed knuckles on each hand, of variable length. Their strength is also based on determination, but when it is used, it almost always causes damage somehow. (Whether or not the Devil’s Tower Monument in Wyoming was made by this sort of means is up to debate, as there have only been three wolf witches in North America during it’s history, during three different time periods.)
While their will is where they boost their strength from, it was from the Great Wolf Fenris that most witches of this sort where given their power from. This causes reason for concern, as many previous wolf witches have been led by his influence to falling into rather barbaric lifestyles. Warlords, sociopaths, serial killers, and secret cannibals are just a few of the things that previous witches have grown into being, and it often takes another witch to outsmart them in order to exterminate them once the Wrath and Gluttony caused by Fenris drives them to such insanity.
Like all witches, a wolf witch can send out their own spirit to inhabit their familiar for periods of time, and as such, it is recommended that a wolf witch bonds themself to a strong canine familiar. Wild canines like foxes, jackals, and wolves are preferred, but when a domestic dog is the only one available, a large hound or working dog is recommended above a toy breed or smaller dog. Mutts are risky choices. Sighthounds like greyhounds may add the benefit of speed and quicker jumping.
Other Notes: Dogs are especially sacred to Hecate, so this has led to the goddess taking special measures in her treatment of this type of witch. Also, it is of note that the behaviors and magic described above all come from witches who have primarily only European ancestry, therefore, the power is augmented and based upon European superstition. A Witch with Asian, African, or Native American ancestry may have different powers based on beliefs surrounding the animal in that culture.
Moth Witch
Moth Witches are highly specialized witches that serve a unique purpose in the witch cluster: Information.
Moth witches were made to learn, teach, and retain knowledge. They are the only witch that can remember it’s previous incarnations, so the personality of a moth witch is generally very uniform, if more distant as the iterations become more compounded. A moth witch will always awaken around the age of 15 or 16, depending on maturity of the witch’s body. Their color is white, and most moth witches will be born albino.
Physical Benefits:
-No notable benefits on record.
Most of a Moth Witch’s magic is drawn naturally from their ability to learn and keep knowledge, so it is likely that a Moth Witch will have a few spells that they have self-crafted for mundane purposes, though quite a few are made for simply communication and transcribing. In this way, a scribe is a very often a job a moth witch will take.
There is a secret spell that every moth witch knows, and it is a spell that only works on other witches. As the moth symbolizes death as much as it symbolizes knowledge and inspiration, the moth witch can be described as a Judge with this spell. This spell has no name, but it will cause death to the other witch it is used on. It’s like taking a light, and switching it off, the effect is as quick as a thought.
Moth witches have no known patron creature giving them strength, but this probably just adds to their status as the neutral entity in the witch’s line. They are, therefore, not susceptible to any of the Maddening Illness, but they are still mortal, so they may fall prey to any of the Seven with equal chance.
