the first three pictures here were captured using the kitlens on my then brand new canon 70D, while I was still discovering what I liked in photography. the fourth and fifth image were taken with a sigma 24mm f1.4 lens that I bought once I figured out I wanted to do more with night photography during my Norway and Iceland trips in 2017.
the whole trip to Vlieland was actually to try out this new lens, for while you can still clearly see light pollution on these photos, it’s actually one of the darkest areas in the country. I experimented with night photography a fair bit that year, which also Improved my editing. and during my new years trip to Washington d.c. that year I would somehow break the sensor of my camera, which led me to buy the full frame 6d MKII as a replacement. my jump to full frame provided the next big improvement in image quality of my night photos.
