hey! I wanted to know how you came up with the names for your flock (including Nelson of course) and what the other options were
Most of them already had names when we got them,
Nelson was an adopted dog that unfortunately didn’t work out, his name was given to him from the shelter and he is no longer living with us
Mia I don’t really remember? I did name her but it was just one of those things where she was nameless for a while then one day just kind of went “Mia? Mia suits you!” She’s also referred to as MooBerry, Berry, and Miss Mia
Newt we were never told had a name, he was just referred to as the Bird or some derogatory terms because he was aggressive towards his previous home. We named him Newt because there was a Senegal (I think? Don’t quite remember)on the other side of Canada we really wanted to adopt named Newt. We decided that the drive that far, etc. Wasn’t going to be feesible so looked on Craigslist where we found our little dude instead. Couldn’t get the name out of my head so we just named him Newt. It’s fitting, the man loves his water! A good chunk of time we call him Noodle because he rolls around like a wet noodle when he’s playful.
Yoshi was originally named Josebelle (Yosh-eh-bell) so we just shortened it to Yoshi because we can. Occasionally we’ll say the full name but It’s really not used all that much. We play a good amount of video games so Yoshi is a pretty natural fit. She sometimes gets called Yosher or puparoo
Fonz was again named when we got him. We often refer to him as Fonzie boy. He knows his name and we like it so we have no intentions to change it. However Fonz was rescued from a house fire/ hoarding situation so if there ever was a grey/ black cat to be called Smokey he’d be the one.
As for the fish , we have Mr. Pleco which is named because he is a Pleco and we never opted to name him. He was jack’s dads fish before he passed away and never named the fish so we just left it. He is lovingly mr. Pleco. Sometimes referred to as The Sir. The Loaches are all named after incredibles characters purely because they needed a theme and the incredibles was the only show we could remember six names from : Frozone, Edna, Dash, Syndrome, Violet, Mr. Incredible. The only two we can identify are Dash and Mr. Incredible. Dash is small and super speedy, Mr. Incredible is massive and, at the moment, pregnant.
