Auto heeling at curb cuts is potentially the best decision we ever made
Asked her to find the car with 0 prep work being done with the new vehicle just to see what she would do!
It’s really neat watching her think this one through, at the initial cue she leans in to the harness and confidently follows the scent path but as we get closer the leash tension disappears. I believe she starts using her eyes a bit more and begins to doubt herself, trying to sort out why the scent path isn’t bringing her to a white truck. Nonetheless she follows her snoot and does bring us to the correct car, albeit not very confidently, so I ask her to confirm that this is the right car and she does so with a proper nose boop!
A thoroughly baffled little pup
I’m absolutely CACKLING why did she just FLOOP like That
Nailed the med retrieval this morning!
Launched off the back of the couch she was relaxing on and gave the meds a nose boop, Had to offer some verbal praise to inform her that she had done the right thing then she finished it off perfectly
Slow to respond to the alarm but she did sort out its new location on her own!
Likely being slow because of mentally trying to remember the new routine/ confused by me rushing to grab a camera.
She’s so smart
This mornings med retrieval was a good laugh. Yoshi comfy on the floor when the alarm goes off. She jolts up ready for action her little brain thinking very hard “I know this, what was it???” Processing processing processing. She takes off at high speed and returns with…. A sock
She very confidently presented me with the sock that I had dropped while folding laundry earlier then stood there waiting for a treat before realizing the sound was the Med Sound and bolted at the medication 😂
Taking a phone sound as a cue has been hard for her! Guess we did too much work on ignoring distractions cause it took three days for her to realize I wanted the phone to cue things!
She’s catching on now though, more work to do still but got over that first hurdle!
