One thing I find really funny about the free flight people is their argument for doing so is often “harness training takes too long” or “not all birds like harnesses”

And man if you don’t think actual proper free flight training doesn’t take years of foundational work before ever getting outside you are woefully mistaken

And if you think every single bird is a suitable candidate for free flight you are also rather foolish

#I get bird flying free sounds so cool and good in your head #but prey animal without a tether is a recipe for disaster #professionals lose their birds all the time #to the point where a bird going missing for days is considered normal and shrugged off within that niche #just use a harness

Asked to go outside, grabbed her frisbee so she could take a sun nap with a buddy

#thought she was asking to play but no #just wanted to secure the disc for nap time

Perhaps the biggest shock to me trying out the new store was how much cheaper the yak cheese chews were

When someone is getting a new puppy so you purge your dog stuff to make them a little supply of dog things

But your toy bucket still manages to be overflowing despite the removal of 15+ items

#still need to go out back and purge the Yard Toy bucket

Owning a house is just”oh this should be a quick fix!” And then it takes you 8 hours and seven trips to the store

#our basement flooded #so we are now prepping to just fully renovate the basement #yes we did have to put the half demolished kitchen on the back burner thanks for asking #so I started removing the shower downstairs #and the shower valve should have been a quick #take this off turn these valves to off and boom done #no #the decorative valve was impossible to remove so I had to brute force it and demolish it #then the actual in the wall shutoff valves #were limescaled and rusted so bad they could not turn #so after trying to descale and make them go #I had to give up #note: my water is shut off the Entire Evening because of this #so to the store #buy a pipe cutter #and some end cap things #cut the damn pipes #put on the end caps #and rip the rest of the unit out of the wall because Fuck That #anywho the shower is now removed minus the floor portion #good #grief

Turns out sham also likes the prey chasing games, despite us trying this last year and him not being interested
