4 ⧽. is there an au or trope that you haven't written before, but would want to try?

I have been dying to write an amnesia fic and I even have a sethkate one started where Kate comes out of Xibalba without her memory but it’s still mostly a concept with just a few lines written. Someday!!

5 ⧽. is there a certain kind of fic that feels the most satisfying to finish? any reason why?

Finishing any fic at all would be super satisfying these days lmao but especially any time I am working on a longer fic it feels so good to complete it. For me, shorter fics can sometimes feel like such a breeze to complete because there’s generally less plot involved, but sticking with a longer story and figuring out all the difficult bits and getting to finish it and post it is such a great feeling.

17 ⧽. are there any songs you want to write a songfic for?

Ok YES I haven’t actually listened to the song yet lol but Madison Davenport put out a song called Danger Danger a while back and the description she put on her instagram was “POV: you're a femme fatale sent to the future to seduce and stop a bad guy.... But you fall for them instead” so I have a wip where after dying at the end of season two Kate gets resurrected in the future and then sent back in time to stop the Gecko bros only she falls for Seth and joins them instead. I really want to write this one… someday

Oh, yay! Thank you for thinking of me!

Okay, here are my five things:

1. I am terrified of fish. I refuse to swim where fish might be. I can’t eat fish or look at them or touch them. The best you’ll get out of me is looking at them in an aquarium. 

2. I work in education. I was an ELA teacher for 6 years working with “at-risk” kids. I then transitioned into administration and I’ve spent the last 2 years really diving into data as a resume builder. 

3. I am the momma of b/g twins who are 10 years old.

4. I met my husband in high school. 10th grade to be exact. In 2021, we will celebrate 11 years of marriage and 19 years of being together. At this point, we’ve spent more of our lives together than we ever did apart. 

5. I have been a fangirl for as long as I can remember. My first fandom was BtVS. I still remember the first site I read fanfic on: Land of Denial. Fandom is such an ingrained part of who I am and I wear that badge proudly.

Asdlkfj;asdfjlk I gotta confess, there’s not a whole lot of SK fic ideas I have that I don’t write down at least in some capacity. Whether or not they ever see the light of day is a completely different story . . .

But I got one where to throw off Amaru’s cronies, Richie convinces Kate to fake her own death and Seth basically lives in hell for six months. But then he keeps seeing her everywhere and he thinks its just the guilt. But ta da, its not and Seth throws Richie through a window. Also Lonely Eyes by Chris Young makes an appearance somewhere - either as the preamble or title . . .

Fic writing questions: 2, 13, 15, 23 and 25! 💖💖💖

2. Why do you write fanfiction? i started as a kid (literally handwriting fanfiction in journals because this was yeaaaars ago) just because i had stories to tell (with obnoxiously self-insert OCs lmaooo) about the stories i loved to read. i didn’t even know fanfiction was a thing until i was like 10 or so tbh but i had been writing for a few years. and then as i got older i realized that it was a really good way to practice and get better and find my voice, and it’s worked out pretty well.

now i just have a pathological need to fix what the professionals fuck up. not that i ever finish anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (it’s gonna happen for sethkate though i can feel it)

13. First fandom you ever wrote for? oooooooooof um i would guess it was either harry potter or one of the quartets in the tortall universe by tamora pierce. my first online fandom experience was harry potter (lmao literally in the message boards on tomfelton.com and danradcliffe.com, yes there were message boards, yes there was fanfiction, it was like the wild west lmfao), and then i joined livejournal when i was 13 or so and got really into the xmen universe and kitty pryde/pyro. idk man.

15. What’s the weirdest fandom you’ve ever written for? even though it helped me find some of the kindest, best people in the whole world (including my very best friend and former roommate lmao), probably les mis. also the worst fandom i’ve ever been it, it was very dramatic. learned a lot in that one.

23. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas? i usually come up with completely independent, often totally batshit ideas, however if there are good prompts, i can get really into building something that i’m enthusiastic about. usually i have the most success with short/dialogue prompts and a song/artist to inspire a fic. 

25. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them! ugh maybe if i ever finished anything lol but not really. there are a couple fics that would be well-set-up to have a spinoff and people have asked but i’ve never felt inspired or compelled to do companion pieces, though it definitely could happen. i’ve also thought about either using characters to do world-building/figure out elements for original stuff i’ve been thinking over for the last few years to start finally working towards a manuscript, but i’m not there yet.
