Plot Summary: When Hester wanders into Mooney’s bookstore on a cold afternoon, Joe Goldberg is captivated. Hester is quiet, thoughtful, and unreadable in a way that triggers Joe’s compulsion to understand. Joe’s obsession grows around Hester, whose inner world is layered with grief, intellect, and a guarded intensity. She isn’t easy prey; she’s careful. She notices things —patterns, absences, the weight of someone’s gaze. But she also wants to be seen, even if she won’t admit it. Joe inserts himself into her routines, yes, but Hester also begins to return to the bookstore, lingering longer, asking questions. OC context: We meet her in S2 in LA, she’s staying at her aunt’s old house after her death, going through her things. After Joe and Love get together, they both have an infatuation with her and then kidnap her and she’s like ‘lol might as well go along with it’ and she doesn’t escape and doesn’t throw a fit so yay.

In S3 she poses as the Quinn’s live in nanny, and like omg everyone is like ‘a british live in nanny!! how posh!!’. Cherry and Cary keep tryna sleep with her and Love is like: 🔪🔪🔪🔪. Is put as look out on them when they’re kidnapped and it’s HILARIOUS. Is in fact not murdered by Joe and they go their separate ways.

S4 part 1 spoilers: Love’s dad tries to kill her and that’s a part of the dudes bait over Joe, he gives her a new identity as well and her and Joe live separately, not quiet together, not not together, they both get dragged into Kate’s friend group separately. Joe has a new (old) motivation, protect her. I’m in the second to last ep of part 1 so idk how Kate will fit in, not sure whats gonna happen idk.
