i feel like i start every post about handler au stating that it is, indeed, about the handler au, but here we go.

Dream centric thoughts bc can you believe I haven't even talked about how he feels? (crazy). Mentally, Dream is very fucked up, and he swings between hysteria and utter bliss. By the time he's been living with Tommy for a few weeks, he fully believes himself to be a pet, no longer human, and his memories from before prison are blurry at best, non-existent at worst. After a few of his sessions with Q, he's developed Retrograde amnesia.

He doesn't have much of an opinion on his Warden, as he doesn't come around much, except to give him healing potions and gave him to Tommy. He's terrified of Sir, of his training and punishments. He knows he deserved it, but it still hurt a lot, and he doesn't miss it one bit.

As for his Owner? Dream adores him, praises the ground he walks on, and is eternally grateful that Tommy chose to take him in as his pet. After all, Tommy is the only person who would ever care about him, who would see such an irredeemable monster like a pet worthy of care. He doesn't care about his leg or the muzzle anymore, so long has he gets the occasional praise and gets to look out the window and see the sun and sky.

Dream doesn't enjoy being 'rescued'.

if I may…

you mentioned Secondo’s habit of self-sabotaging in relationships and I just can’t stop thinking about how he’d likely only ever be able to fall in love with a friend. Quick flings are carefully arranged on his part so that there isn’t a sliver of a chance that he’d catch feelings, HOWEVER—

he can’t help but notice how pretty his friend is! or how they laze around his office just to spend time with him…how much he loves their laugh, or how they look at him, or how they aren’t afraid to tease him…

Before he knows it, he’s repressing how down-bad he is. And it’s definitely going to result in an absurd amount of prolonged tension and some eventual explosion of an argument between them, but once they move through it all…he’s done for. I think he’s a sad sucker for friends to lovers and it makes me love him even more 🥰

I love that! 😭 I think you're right, the circumstances for sure have to be right for him to allow himself to get close to someone or for it to happen without him even realizing that he's falling for the person, like a friend or someone he works with closely or sees often for various reasons (no matter if there is a sexual component or not, he needs time to get attached).

I think he would very much be a person with only few friends but the ones he has have stood the test of time. While he is a friendly and polite person he just extremely reserved which can come across as cold – but there are moments where he would slip and open up to some degree. If you manage to form a friendship I think that's the point where he truly sees eye to eye with you and things could go further romantically. He needs a partner to match his wits and who is not spooked or intimidated by his tougher exterior (and yes if there's unresolved sexual tension and he's struggling to admit that he caught feelings it will be explosive 👀 🧨 )
