I might start to sound like those people who defend Jeremiah's actions with the argument that they were broken up so he didn't cheat. Whatever. You didn't cheat but you're still a traitor. Not the point.

The point is that Belly didn't emotionally cheat. She was still in love with Conrad when she got with Jeremiah, yes (I mean she broke up with him a month before getting together with the blue eyed demon). It was wrong. But Jeremiah knew and he pursued her despite that.

You hear the words emotional cheating and you think that it means being in love with someone else while you're in a relationship. But it's not that. According to....Cleveland Clinic Health, emotional cheating is a type of an emotional affair that involves developing a close, emotional connection with someone other than your partner without fully disclosing the existence of that connection. Jeremiah knows about the connection. He knows they dated, that Conrad loved her so much he felt physical pain when he was kept away from her, he knows that Belly still loves him and viceversa.

In general, emotional cheating may include behaviors like:

Fixating your thoughts on the person outside of your relationship all the time throughout the day - Belly repressed (?) her feelings for Conrad for years until she saw him at Christmas, and then immediately after until she saw him again.

Comparing the outside person to your partner and finding your partner lacking - that's what Jeremiah does. Jeremiah cheats on Belly with Conrad confirmed?!

Deleting or hiding texts, phone calls or social media posts involving the outside person - they haven't interacted in years.

Sharing intimate and important details about your life with the outside person that you’re withholding from your partner - again, they haven't talked in years.

Becoming defensive whenever the outside person is brought up in conversation or you’re being questioned about your actions involving this person - every time Conrad is brought up is by Jeremiah who either insults him, and Belly goes along with him, or when he wants to victimize himself, and Belly comforts him.

Venting about or problem-solving issues with this outside person instead of your partner, especially when the problems discussed directly involve your partner - say it with me: they haven't talked in years. You could argue that the cake stuff was this, but she was just stressed and crying and he tried to help. She didn't purposely go to Conrad to fix problems instead of Jeremiah. Idk maybe this is the iffiest one.

You’ve stopped expressing your needs in your current relationship - I mean if she tries Jeremiah gets offended and acts like a child.

You’ve stopped having deep, intimate conversations with your partner - Jeremiah is incapable of that.
