M: "Muriel found it on my station in the restoration lab, unadressed," Aziraphale says, slumping back in his chair, "to my knowledge there's no record of delivery through the university, and the CCTV footage is inaccessible." O: "Oh, Mister Hot-Shot-Six-Figure-Podcast-Guy is a Kantian in practice." N: "Ngk — yeah, no probl'm," he stammers, "running out of daylight as it is, so."

"Neither did you," Crowley says, cocking his head to the side. "When were you going to mention that?"

Aziraphale gulps around the half-baked excuse caught in his throat.

A sharp fist knocks shave and a haircut and Aziraphale startles and relaxes in an instant, a wave of relief washing over him as he recognises the familiar sound. He moves to answer the door, then pauses, looking at Crowley again with a befuddled look.  "It's... Monday, yes?" he says, brow furrowed. "Last time I checked," Crowley says, eyeing him warily. "Why?"  "Doctor Fell, are you in there?" Adam calls from the other side of the door.  "We came to make sure you didn't die this weekend!" Brian adds cheerily.

“I have a class-related question,” Pepper says, putting her hand up.

“Wonderful,” Aziraphale says, with a tired smile. “What is it?”

“Why did you cancel your office hours yesterday?” she asks, tilting her head and smiling coyly.

Well, he walked into that one. Aziraphale’s smile drops and he scowls at her. “I had an unexpected meeting off campus,” he says, “and as I said at the top of the hour, you’re welcome to drop in for makeup hours anytime this afternoon if you need assistance. Now – after her father passed, Georgiana went on to start a solo career…”

He trails off, glowering at The Them and their lineup of eager expressions and raised hands.

W: When he pauses and rolls his shoulders, shifting uncomfortably and pursing his wobbly lips into a thin line, Aziraphale realises that Crowley is scared — properly scared; not comically alarmed or dramatically superstitious, just… afraid.

I: “I wasn’t trying to summon anything,” Aziraphale says defensively, looking up through his lashes to pout at Crowley. “I only wanted the chance to ask it questions.”

N: “Ngk — er, it may have been too soon for questions, that’s my bad.”
