My Picasso World is a collaborative project between the Gerald Moore Gallery and Mr. Mitchell’s year 7 English pupils. The young curators, who were working on descriptive writing in lessons, were given images of the Picasso works included in the exhibition. In class they wrote brief descriptions of the artworks, and gave them new titles. Next, they came into the gallery to see the works in person. While in the gallery, pupils discussed the exhibition and corrected one-another’s descriptions, elaborating on them occasionally. The boys’ descriptions and creative titles currently represent the work in the gallery. In addition to these details, they also left their mark on a large chalkboard wall with Picasso-inspired imagery and colours. This is an original project, authored by Tom Mitchell and Amy Ash.
