The young curators of Yollocalli have shown leadership, teamwork, and cooperation as they curate and prepare for the exhibition at Prosper Skate shop of Chicago. Feminart is the first project the young curators have put together. It’s important to showcase the talent of these young female artists in feminart because we want the public to realize that even though gender equality is enforced we still mange to leave behind talented young women. Young women should feel safe about expressing themselves and going against conventional ideas in society. There are several different mediums presented in Feminart such as zines, graffiti, graphite, wheatpastes, and photography. The young female artists that created the art are between the ages of 10-20. They also come from different parts of Chicago like Pilsen, Little Village, West side Chicago, and Florida.

The main idea of this group of pictures is to push out the ideas of rebellion, breaking social norms, and the beauty that can be found in the grittiest person.

This is about an evolution of chaos through time. Some of the photos were found from different books that i pieced together to give an example of an exhibit. These pictures were in a way related to each other through the actions that were being occurred. The pictures that are black and white were taken place before the 90's except for the Andy Warhol piece. I decided to make it black and white to represent the posters of propaganda being posted through the city to give an idea of how it was in that scenario to give visuals in the mind. The one picture that was colored was taken in 1999-2000. I left it color to show how it elevated and how severe times were getting. To kind make a climax out of it to give it that "umph".
