[Also gonna take a ONE DAY break so my carpal tunnels in my hand don't go NUTS and I don't have to go to the doctors 🦅]
Oh lordy here it isss EMPEROR FERNANDO WITH A BACK STORY ? No waaaay. [BTW I don't care if people will or won't like it im DRAWING this again 🦅 100%] - Any inspirations are going to be mentioned down below 🩵
[You guys obviously don't have to be reading this but I'll be glad if someone does read it since im actually for once somewhat proud of my writing🧚♀️✨]
⋆。°✩✨ Story tiiiiime 📖✨✩ °。⋆----------------
Around 450 A.C., a young emperor Fernando wanted to restore the glory of a once-mighty empire. He longed to conquer and reclaim the power that had slipped through the hands of his ancestors. Each victory brought him riches, and he displayed them proudly, adding more gold and jewels to his armor after every triumph. Upon his shoulders gleamed blood-red rubies, each symbolizing one of his greatest wars, and in the center of his chest shone a larger one, the emblem of his most devastating conquest.
What was once a beautiful suit of dark blue-tinted armor slowly lost its luster, layer by layer, as it became stained with the blood of countless massacres. After one particularly brutal war, the emperor’s face was forever changed. A deep scar cut across his once-smooth, innocent features, marking him for the cruelty and violence of his deeds.
When he returned home, the servants whispered among themselves. In the flicker of torchlight, the golden wreath upon his head seemed to twist into the shape of devil horns. Thought, they might have been just imagining things, surely.
As years passed, famine spread, and the empire grew restless. The people hungered while their ruler, now older and wiser, began to see the cost of his ambitions. Emperor Fernando decided it was time to protect what remained rather than chase after endless expansion. The royal coffers were nearly empty, and war had drained not only the empire’s gold but also its spirit. He turned instead to his people, choosing to rebuild rather than conquer.
Two decades later, his efforts shone bright. The empire had regained at least half of its former glory. The emperor himself had changed, trading his heavy armor for robes of diplomacy in the gentle light blue of peace. The scar on his face still lingered, a reminder of his youth. In shame, he grew a beard to hide it, hoping the world would remember not the boy driven by bloodlust, but the man who tried to mend what he had broken.
Yet fate was unkind. Neighboring lands began to press against his borders, and enemies grew bolder. Before he could once again rise to defend his people, Fernando’s strength failed him. He passed his crown to his successor and said his last goodbyes around 470 A.C. to the empire he had both loved and wronged, the empire he had always wished he had cared for better.
[ btw don't, and I really mean it, DON'T look at any grammar mistakes. English is not my first language so lets be nice 😭😭😭]
**[This story both changes the reality but also involves some historical parts connected to actual art history such as change of robes, colour and jewlery worn less by 470 as the empire slowly started to fall back into it's unfortunate old rails before collapsing in 476]**
Inspiration list : :
•General Acacius- solely armor and how the hell it looked like (added more of my own twist to it)
•Schpood's personality with again armor
•Art piece: "Titus, Costume for Berenice" by Philippe Chery (used for the idea of diplomacy clothes)
• Art piece : The Emperor Augustus Rebuking Cornelius Cinna for His Treachery, an 1814 painting by Étienne-Jean Delécluze (again used for the idea of diplomacy clothes)
My break has ended and so it's time for NANDO RETURN. Welcome back sir, it's time for you to be drawn every single day for the following week
[BTW my hand is now actually so much better and it doesn't hurt to hold my pen so HURRAY]🦅🎉
SO glad I took the day off
It's Nando again! :D This time..Pink and blue 🩷💙
I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and I wish you all good luck in the next week :)
After hours of slamming my head into a wall(which is the normal process of drawing -trust-) I finished this piece of young Nando 🩵🦅
BUT the idea from @alosilliac was just too good to leave alone SO BIG THANKS to them, thank you for allowing me using your idea. 💙🩵💚
I finally finished this piece of young Nano mixed with the painting The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel
Did it took stupid long? Yes. Did I put few details in it to hint Its still the man himself, Alonso, we all know and love? Yes.
The Detail List:
1. added a blue cloth which ofc, is the colour of Renault where he scored the first and second championships with. (I really didn't know where else put it so just - don't question it, I BEG)
2. The wings of which I added more colour to them. The hint of blue and yellow, with "aging " the green starts to appear more visible hinting on him now being in Aston Martin (most probably the last team ) - I didn't add more colours because broski would look like a parrot with how many colours would be there 😭
3. The look, the legendary stare, I changed it, It didn't feel right for what I had in plan instead of the original's look of revenge, I took the creative hand and made it more of a dissapointment look, perhaps in the car, in the team, or even in himself. As he noticed with age his wings are no longer what they used to be and the remains of glory days only just a faint memory of it being there.
To add to it, I wanted not only the hands being there to cover his mouth, perhaps to hide his saddnes that no matter his tries still escaped as a singular tear.
4. This is really additional but I do want to let you know that I'm aware he has Poland syndrome and I tried to my best of drawing it. So I hope it looks alright and that I didn't mess it up.
Anyway THANK YOU DEARLY FOR READING!
💙🩵💛💚
'Blinded by wrath ' - Holey moleeh its Emperor Unc Fernando on a horse (red gradient and a black horse hmmmm) that seems familiar. Btw details again are down below ❤️
Detail list for those interested 🦋:
• The original painting is between a warrior killing a soldier trained to fight - guess who changed it? Me! I wanted him to be reckless and almost you might say without honour. Our Emperor is mad that the boy caused the scar upon his face and shall take revenge. The boy isn't properly trained, doesn't have a horse nor has a proper armor and shield, yet the Emperor doesn't care. He doesn't care that this isn't a fair fight. He simply is here to kill the boy
• The horse - the horse in the original looks fowards shook at the harsh pull but I made it that the pull isn’t the problem. It knows what will happen in the next following seconds. It looks at the Emperor, it almost asking. Do you wish to really cause this? Will you not change your ways?
• Again the original is based on "clense of the bad" and is in very bright colours and lots and lots of white. Here it is changed, this painting itself also isn't as dark but the more people looked at it, the more wars happened, the more sinister it turned. - I love to make fiction okay don’t ask how that works 😭
•This scene showcases the most important war also It being the one where Fernando was fully involved. After the accident his want for war didn't end but his mindset of ' I cannot be hurt or killed' was shatered. This was the last war after which he showcases his win with the last Ruby in the middle of the chestplate, which right now? Is still missing because in that moment even if we see the obvious ending but what if it didn't truly end that way? Almost as if the painting wants you to study upon history, it knows that not every information needs to have a spoonfed details and explanations. It wants the viewer to use their critical thinking.
Original painting : Knight templar versus Eliteislamic Mubarizun
(author no joke I couldn't find but pretty much in Google search the image shows up in like 90% of times) if Anyone finds the author TELL ME ill yeet it here 🩵
