in this version Melody Was Childhood Friends with Gaster (kinda like Karl and Ellie from Up) and even stayed friends in teenage hood where Melody was a Trad Goth and Wing Dings was a Dorky Nerd

Melody and Dings saw eachother as Kindred spirits but still different, they both love Science and believe (ed) that humans and monsters could live in harmony

When they were kids they go into the forest and look for things to study (like a bottle cap or a dead rat) and go on different adventures in the rain and forest (Studio ghibli sytle)

Though Dings Parents really didn't like her one bit because they didn't want their son to be with a moster who was raised by a Human
