⚓️ The origin of the Whitebeard Jolly Roger Tattoo!
Day 1 of the @whitebeard-pirate-week event
The phoenix had joined the crew at a very young age, and he had directly adopted the captain as his father. He was the first one to call him Pop's in the crew. A name that gradually became a habit adopted by all. He was their father after all and they loved him.
Marco was very close to his captain. If he wasn't working he was probably with the old man. They talked all the time. About everything and anything. Marco loved more than anyone to listen to his father talk about his pirate adventures. And about the battles he had fought long before he started his own crew.
The more time passed, the closer he and his father became. Young Marco would always follow his captain to his cabin late at night when the day's festivities were over to continue listening to his father's exciting stories and he would always end up falling asleep with him.
Soon everyone was aware of the powerful bond between the two. Son and father were inseparable. Whitebeard was an great father, he loved all his children equally and spent time with them when they came to see him. But he could not deny the special relationship he has with his phoenix. And the others are not jealous of this relationship.
The more the bond between the two developed, the more Marco wanted to do something to show his gratitude to the old man. And the idea came to him one evening in his room while leaving his shower.
In front of his mirror he was observing his body and he thought that engraving on his skin that he was part of this family was a good way to show his gratitude to his father.
So he grabbed one of the markers on his desk and, applying himself as best as he could, he drew his father's Jolly Roger on his chest. He then walks out onto the deck and heads towards the place where his father is sitting drinking. Once in front of him he opened his shirt and showed him.
I can tell you that Whitebeard almost choked on his sake that he swallowed the wrong way. The attention of everyone nearby was now fixed on the interaction between young Marco and their father.
"What's that?" his father asked with a mocking smile.
Marco didn't like the tone, he thought it was a good idea, he wanted to show his father that he was happy to be part of this family and that he was grateful. He flew to his room before slamming the door, filled with doubt. He wanted to please his father, not to be laughed at.
Lost in his thoughts he was brought back to reality by the sound of footsteps outside his room. He put himself in his bed under the covers not to be seen by the person who was coming.
The door was knocked on and opened without awaiting an answer. His father swept the room with his eyes before looking at the small pile of sheets on the bed.
"Marco? Come out please. I didn't mean to make fun of you.”
"Marco is not here.” Answered the boy, still under the sheets.
His father smiled, his son could be very stubborn when he wanted to be but he too and certainly wasn't going to sit around doing nothing. So he pulled back the covers gently to avoid hurting the boy before grabbing him by his shirt collar to carry him out of bed. Placed in the hollow of his hand the phœnix put itself in ball obviously always vexed.
"Marco? I'm sorry" apologized white beard "I did not mean to offend you, I really like your idea it is very touching but ..."
"Then why did you laugh?"
Whitebeard then proceeded to put his son down inviting him to go in front of the mirror in front of which he had drawn on his chest earlier
"Because you drew it upside down boy" finally replied his father laughing again guarararara
