“A non-original-au where Mercy and all the other support are actually teachers in an elementary school and they have to deal with all the other heroes who are now hyperactive and annoying kids…”
…Or my life as a support main in OW~
And it’s also a reason to draw Mercy in more casual outfits ❤
In which a young Fareeha Amari’s seen one too many movies where a kid finds their single parent’s true love... and decides to take things into her own hands.
Thank you @astrotheology for getting my creativity flowing! Enjoy!
“That movie was awesome!” Fareeha Amari cheered, getting some weird looks from the other people in the theater. She ducked her head, and tugged on her hoodie subconsciously. “Sorry. But it was.” Her chaperone, one Jesse McCree, chuckled dryly.
“That it was,” Jesse said with a grin. “Gotta say, kiddo, I was expectin’ something cliche an’ terrible. It wasn’t cliche an’ terrible, not at all.”
“Yeah! Debbie and John were so cute together!” Fareeha burst out. “And Mary was a straight-up genius!”
“That she was,” Jesse agreed. “That she was.”
Fareeha’s cheerful grin became a serious, calculating look, one she knew perfectly well her mother wore quite often. “Okay, but seriously. Mary had to know John liked her mom. Or at least that her mom liked John. Right?”
“Yeah,” Jesse said. “Where’re ya goin’ with this?”
“I know someone who likes Mum~!” Fareeha said in a childish, sing-song voice. “Don’t know if she likes him back, but I at least know she’s straight so that’s something!”
Jesse laughed. “Well I’d hope she’s straight, or at least was, ‘cause last I checked ya weren’t adopted.”
“Jesse!” Fareeha shoved his arm roughly, but she was smiling. They both were. “But yeah, she’s straight. And I’ve got to get her and R- well... him. Together!”
Jesse smirked. “Let me guess: Reinhardt?”
Fareeha’s hoodie didn’t at all conceal the fact that she’d turned a bright red. She nodded, and her face became an even deeper shade.
“Seems like s’obvious to everyone but the involved parties sometimes,” Jesse continued. “I mean, the guy’s a gentleman to ev’ryone, but there’s bein’ a gentleman an’ he always goes the extra mile ‘round yer mom.”
“Yeah,” Fareeha agreed. “Any ideas?”
Jesse grinned. “For gettin’ yer mom and Reinhardt together? I got plenty.”
Unfortunately, they all were dismissed as either silly pranks or bad luck, so eventually the pair gave up. Fareeha blamed Jesse. Jesse blamed Fareeha. The real reason was probably because there seemed to be no indication of Fareeha’s mother having any feelings for Reinhardt whatsoever.
