You had always been the type of girl that guys loved hanging around. You were carefree, fun, and most of all, drama-free. You had always been seen as one of the guys, but unfortunately one of the guy’s in your friend group wasn’t the friendliest. Although you were the only girl, that didn’t stop all the guys from treating you like one of them.

Rob was the one who caught your attention the most. He played the hardest whenever he was with you. Whether it was a sport, or just a simple card game. You two were always at each other’s throats, and you didn’t have any hesitation to show it to him. You wanted to make sure that Rob knew who ruled the field, but he wanted to make you know that he ruled the field.

Every lunch that you and your group of friends had together, Rob would sit farthest away from you. He would always offer you cold glares whenever he was around you. You never failed him to show him your middle finger every time you saw him. You two despised each other, and that was what made you two even more competitive toward each other.

Rob ran down the football field, the football tucked underneath his arm. You were chasing after him, sweat beading up on your forehead. You could feel a burst of energy surge through you as you saw that Rob was right in front of you. Rob could feel you at his tail the closer he got to the touchdown section. Before he knew it, you had sprung at Rob and taken him down.

All the guys playing with you all inhaled sharply. It looked pretty painful, and painful it was. Although you were hurt, you just shook it off and climbed off of Rob who had lost the ball. You smiled down at him in amusement, when all of a sudden, one of the guys had tackled you just as hard to the ground.

“DOG PILE!!!”

Rob widened his eyes and stepped back as he saw all of his friends begin to jump on you. None of them knew that you were in pain, but the dog pile was making the pain worsen. You grunted in discomfort as they continued to topple on top of you. Rob stared down at you and saw you wincing at the pain that was occurring within your body. Rob furrowed his eyebrows and raced up to the top guy on the pile.

“GET THE HELL OFF OF [Y/N]!!!” Rob boomed, throwing the top guy off. Your eyes caught his angry tone and immediately confused you. “YOU’RE HURTING HER!!!”

All of your friends started sliding off of you. They mumbled their apologizes, as they got off of you. Once the last guy got off, you inhaled a big breath of air. You could breath. Rob knelt down to your level and glared down at you. You rolled over onto your back, only to connect eyes with his ocean blue ones.

“Are you okay [Y/N]?” Rob asked, staring at you in worry. You slowly nodded. “I’m sorry about them. We could be really rough sometimes.”

“I know you guys can,” You responded, slowly sitting up. “And since when did you care about getting hurt?”

“I’m not sure...I just...When I saw you hurt down there, it hurt me,” Rob said with a shrug. “I guess...I guess I like you more than I thought I did.”

“Oh shut up Lowe, we all know you liked her ever since she beat you in the game of pool,” One of your friends blurted, making you smirk slightly. Rob turned tomato red and stood up to smack his friend in the shoulder. “I know I deserved that, but it was worth it.”

“So I guess our feud with each other doesn’t exist anymore?” You asked, climbing up to your feet. You brushed off the wet pieces of grass off of your body. “I think that you shouldn’t get soft of me quite yet.”

“I don’t want to play anymore sports with you [Y/N],” Rob said, noticing a slight cut on your elbow. “It’s not safe for you.”

“Or are you just afraid to lose to a girl?”

Rob blinked, a small smile curving across his face. “Alright [Y/N], it’s on.”

“Let’s do it pretty boy.”
