You mean the little guys from the dating video?? Perfect I love these guys. Right now I am in the middle of continueing the next part of the icky itchy and wrong fic and I’m skinning someone! Someone is getting skinned

On the other side of things I still think little Leftie is so cute and I love him. hannahdra-ws thought the rhythm games idea was really cute and I feel like Logan definitely absolutely misses playing those memory games with Patton. But he is grown man he cannot play silly childish games that are super fun and give him the false feelings of accomplishment when they beat the high score.

Alright :)

Like a lot of the dark sides, he was very underdeveloped. He was his bare essentials. Fear, anxiety, dark, edgy, and sad. His interests were minimal. Everyone’s identity was lacking, but because of what he is, his was especially bare.

He was like a mimic for years. Watching and copying. Mostly copying the snake. He looked up to him quite a lot.

Speaking of Mr Snake Man, they were like mentor/mentee for a LONGGG time. Snake taught him everything about sneaking around the mindpalace and how to influence without really being seen.

He never disguised himself like the others, but he never had to. He could influence Thomas and the others without all that flashy stuff the snake and (Remus) Vision had to do.

He was mostly mute. Voluntarily. I imagine him like those kids in your class that are very quiet either because they’re incredibly shy or they just don’t like you. Most likely both for him.

He was the “voice” for the dark sides tho. While he wasn’t being seen by Thomas, he was still being acknowledged by him more than any of the others. He had so much more influence than the others too. More powerful to an extent. He was able to move from dark to light with relative ease because of his function being necessary and overtly heightened than most.

The others took advantage of that quite a bit. He would go out to pester the others and Thomas mostly as the prodding and shoving of the snake and the other Vision.

The closeness he had with the snake was basically this image

(Angst note) he didn’t spend time with the others up until the day he was accepted. There was several years between when he left the others and before he joined the core sides. Those years in between he just spent alone and wondering. For the most part, he avoided the dark sides, while still sticking to the shadows in the light.

(Fluff note!!) he wasn’t aware of the purple butterflies until the snake pointed it out to him one night. Both him and Vision were gushing and bullying him for his sparkly little eye makeup and he was trying so hard to hide his face away forever. He was purple AND red that night.

oh my gosh yeah im back sorry id love to hear if you have any thoughts about left and right brain... like as a duo...... my friend and i have been tweaking for weeks

Okay here’s some left brain right brain thingsssss

So many brain puns. Left found them fun for a little while but quickly grew to hate them because Right is ALWAYS MAKING PUNS

Vision is the one that made the mindpalace a whole thing for the sides when they aren’t with Thomas, but Right was the one that wanted the family dynamic. The only one he had to convince to do the whole domestic thing was Left.

They were KINGS with the why game. Left was very curious and wanted to learn so much when Thomas was this age, and was a lot more open about things he did not know, so he often asked questions out loud to give Thomas the idea to look it up. Right would often make a joke answer because it was fun and sometimes made people laugh. That became a game of Left asking a question (“why do you think stars form constellations?”) and Right answering in a silly way (“that’s the only way the cosmos can draw pictures in the sky!”).

Left and Right played a lot of games like this. This is how the word association game became a thing too. They used to go back and forth for so long before Vision would groan and call them nerds.

Left would talk to Vision about how the mindpalace works, but he would talk to Right about how their identities and roles were changing.

Logan is the only one that really remembers being Left Brain, but Patton used to take a lot of mental pictures of them throughout Thomas’ life. He sometimes stumbles upon those pictures and gushes over how wide eyed and sparkly they all were.

“Logan look! Ah, you were such a cute kiddo back then! Do you remember how you would always hold that notebook around asking so many questions? You were so ADORABLE!!”

(Small angst) when Left started getting those frightening meta thoughts about how they weren’t ACTUALLY real and what their existence actually was, he would go to Right for comfort. He didn’t understand why no one else felt disturbed by their existence, and Right didn’t understand why he worried so much about it, but he always helped Left through those scary questions. Even when they kinda scared him too.

Left used to admire how open Right was about his feelings. He didn’t know how to do that, but he tried a lot more back then.

Right always admired how Left wasn’t afraid of being wrong or not knowing something. Not knowing was terrifying for him because he HAD to know for Thomas.

(One last fluff) Left and Right used to play those crazy advanced versions of Patty Cake with the extended songs and hitting of various other body parts with TREMENDOUS speed. Right was always the first to mess up but Left would always insist they keep going to beat the record he has going in his head. Whenever they would beat the current time, Left would get excited and mess up the rhythm.

Wait yes! Young sides and the king creativity that *wasn't*.

Vision becoming two visions that eventually become two distinct sides, but like

Do you think they just looked the exact same in the beginning? Or Do you think that because they are still so new and so not fleshed out yet, that vision - that becomes Remus - was like even less "physical" than the other Vision?

I have said this yes BIG BELIEVER of not Vision being One but Vision being Two. Remus Vision was just simply Vision for years but just a Vision that was a little off. I like the idea of Two Visions being always the case because Thomas developed this way SINCE childhood and while we don’t have really a CHILDHOOD Young Sides, we do kinda a little bit have them because they are based on what Young Thomas would think is mature as Young Child.

Another tangent. Sorry. Anyway I definitely believe the Two Visions were just identical to each other for a while, only differences being the way their ideas branched off. And the “split” was more of Remus Vision developing more into darker themes and Roman Vision plus Right Brain slowly pushing him away. And then as Remus Vision kept developing, becoming less and less like the clone of Vision that he was, he became messy and confused and lost that connection with Thomas because he was being pushed out of the role of Vision. Despite still BEING Vision.

So uh. I think Remus was technically the most developed in the dark sides, but all jumbled up so he still had less of an identity just like the rest of them. Because he HAD an identity as one of Thomas’ Visions but lost it as he started developing differently than Roman. As well as losing that connection with Thomas.

This is probably wildly confusing but it makes sense to me and that’s all I care about

I adore little Left Brian so you can absolutely have more Left Brian and expect more Left Brain in the future. Here are some silly headcanons for now.

He was a very curious guy. Everything about his existence fascinated him. He wanted to know everything there was about Thomas’ brain.

He used to follow around the other sides when he wasn’t busy asking them questions about their roles because it was all so fascinating to him.

Him and Vision used to be inseparable. Leftie would ask about and test his capabilities and Vision LOVED the attention.

Ofc they still argued, even at this point in time, but it was a lot less heated than it is today.

And yes, Leftie would always get really flustered towards compliments. ESPECIALLY if you were using his nickname.

When the dark sides started developing, he was a little jealous that he didn’t have a direct opposite like the others did. It was irrational to think like that, but that was the case for a while.

He always felt like he was falling behind the others in terms of individuality. He still had a hard time separating himself from Thomas.

Picking the name Logic and Logan was part of that. Even though he was giving himself more of a distinction and separation from Thomas, he still just picked the “easy” options.

He didn’t realize there was a problem with Thomas hiding sides from himself until very late in the game. By the time he did, it was too late to do anything about it.

He once considered Right Brain Thomas’ most important side.

(Small talk about eating issues here) His problems with food had always been there, since his creation. It had always concerned Rightie, but that too soften over time.

Because of his pension for keeping an exact record of time, he does have a catalog of how long it’s been since the sides had called him Leftie.

He sorta regrets picking a real name because of that.

As they developed more and more, the others had slowly forgotten the existence of their former selves. Except for Logan. He remembers all of what it was like being Left Brain.

The idea of the split never once being physical.

The young sides being so under developed for years until Thomas started making his vines and making the YouTube series, that they really just started out developing separately.

One day there was just two Visions. Two Visions that looked and acted the exact same. Except one of the Visions says something a little odd sometimes. No big deal, we all have weird days.

But he just keeps getting weirder. And it’s harder to be around him.

So the split becomes something more of a distance. Separating the other Vision—or Remus—from Thomas, and then away from the others. Until he realizes “Hey, I haven’t talked to the others in weeks. I wonder where they are?” And finds out that they’ve been avoiding him for ages now.

So the split wasn’t a physical thing. Just a very slow and painful transition.
